How was he a distraction when not 1 player came out and said somthing neg abt him
. it was always the bithy ass fans that had a problem with him
. I think Gp spoke out against Tomlin privately, and now Tomlin wanted to trade him..there have been other players given thoughts abt Tomlin after they left as a fa that shed a lil light on Tomlin and his coaching ability

Okay, hear me out. If they Traded GP and KP and DJ not because of on field performance but because of being a cancer, then explain it to me like I’m 5, why are they still courting A-A-Ron?

You don’t play the games for draft position

    That’s just a boneheaded idea

I don't want the steelers to play only for a 10-7 season....This roster is not a super bowl caliber roster, with or without Rodgers...Better to put in a better position to have a franchise QB in the 2026 draft

It don't make us the Browns if they have a 5-12 season or worse...It take more than that, like 20-25 years of bad football outside of 3-4 seasons

They have 12 draft picks that's enough to move up for a franchise QB, and can offer up picks in 2027.

The best scenario is to be in position to take a franchise QB without trading up and keep all the other draft picks to build a solid team around that QB!

They aren't going to draft 12 players with those picks because all of those guys wouldn't make the team .

Except no team was going to give up a second for a one year rental player.

I suppose, he may grow up or he may bounce around like AB after he had his meltdown. At least they traded him out of conference.

I said when we got DK it was too many resources for a guy who isn't that great. I would not have done that trade and contract. He's had a bunch of problems too but at least he plays hard. Pickens quit all over the field. I didn't want to draft him either. There's a reason his "1st round talent" fell in the draft. Dude's always been crazy.

I'm fine with crazy. But thanks for actually being honest on here. So many on here are trying to act like Metcalf is a greatest teammate/ player to have. Or they just turn a blind eye to it.

Tomlins getting older and his tolerance shorter. I can relate. Trying to save all these malcontents seems to be wearing thin. His system of getting 3 years out of them as red flag value picks maybe shortened up a bit. I won't miss GP, just use them up as much as you can and send them packing is fine with me. New ones always available, the good bad and ugly. My opinion is the new QB Howard will be the future for at least a few seasons.

Howard could be, sure. The extra picks are insurance if he's not.

Really? Because I'm not sure what purpose is being served by copy-and-pasting a carefully curated list of 13 infractions three times in a row here, on top of peppering it into other recent threads, on top creating your own thread about it.

That doesn't come off to me as somebody who's "fine" with the player.

Maybe it's the difference between dealing with a melanoma and dealing with Stage 4?

I see your 10s and raise you with my queens....Pickens diary of infractions:
    • Blindside hit, taunting fines after 2023 win vs. Rams - He was dinged $8,525 for unnecessary roughness after a flag was thrown for an illegal blindside block on Los Angeles safety Russ Yeast in the first quarter. He was also fined an equal amount for unsportsmanlike conduct as a result of taunting Yeast in the fourth quarter after an 18-yard catch.
    • Pickens complains about usage in 2023 - "I can’t really produce when you are running five-yard routes, three-yard routes," Pickens said
    • Unsportsmanlike conduct fine after 2023 win vs. Bengals - He lost out on $16,391
    • According to CBS Sports, Pickens has "fined at or above $200,000 this year [2023] by the NFL and the Steelers combined, a larger-than-average figure for any player regardless of contract status. The NFL has fined Pickens a total of $33,441 in publicly available fines for unnecessary roughness and unnecessary conduct. Team fines and other league fines are not usually public knowledge."
    • Facemask, eye black fines after 2024 loss vs. Cowboys - fined $10,230 - received a $10,231 fine for his explicit eye black message he wore during the game. Pickens wrote "Open F***ing Always" on his eye black under his eyes
    • Facemask fine after 2024 win vs. Commanders - later hit with a $16,883 fine.
    • 2024 fight with Browns CB Greg Newsome II
    • Taunting, unsportsmanlike conduct fines after 2024 win vs. Bengals - He was hit with two fines totaling $20,462
    • Pickens fined for unsportsmanlike conduct vs. Chiefs - fined $10,231 for removing his helmet on the field of play in a Christmas loss to the Chiefs in 2024

Pickens seems to get poorer the more he plays....
