Just goes to show Tomlin is the biggest idiot in the room.if this is true..

I can't remember who it was but some player came out abt a month ago who said Tomlin was holding this team back. he said Tomlin was wishing washy, couldn't commit to the direction that's best for the team. said he had to much power more or less..

Disagree. Pickens was a distraction, terrible work ethic, head case. Was never going to grow up. They were never going to resign him, anyway. They already traded for an alpha dog receiver, and now have an extra pick next year to grab the QB of the future.

What makes yall think Howard or MR isn't the qb of the future? . Sounds like yall / steelers front want to give either one a fair chance? and on headset on drafting a qb early next year anyway.. just more idiotic decisions from team day after day Imo

When in recent years have the Steelers made a decision to let go of a prominent receiver who was still under contract and had it not be a good decision? DJ? Check. AB? Check. Bryant? Check. Holmes? Check. Edit: I forgot Claypool. Check!

I’m certainly not a member of the Tomlin fan club, but this is one decision that I trust.

    So metcalf isn't cancer?

    1. 2021 Met was EJECTED after grabbing the facemask of not one, but TWO defenders in the packers game.
    2. He even tried to re-enter the game after his ejecti9on
    3. 2024 Met had a physical altercation with Bears player where he literally headbutted him. which lead to not one but TWO penalties
    4. Met vs 49ers
    5. High penalty rate he draws 3 times as many penalties, including numerous 10 and 15 yard infractions.
    6. Fined by the shield for $11,255 for unnecessary roughness penalty on the giants in 2024.
    7. despite penalties, Met flat out told the media "I'm not going to change the way I play or who I am"
    8. Met learned sign language so he would not get penalties for taunting and talking trash.
    9. Pete Carrol even said the team tracks the penalties that Met causes and that Met was the leader in penalties.
    10. you think steeler fans were bad with complaining about pickens atitude? Ha, seahawk fans had articles written by non seahawks beatwriters for them.
    11. Dude fights during training camp (hence why I said our beat writers will be writing day one he gets into camp)
    12. fined for hit on Witherspoon
    13. Met swung his freaking helmet at his own teammate.

How you feel about metcalf being more unstable and having purulent that cost us in games?

You know I can handle all that. But I don't think the cry baby's of Pickens can handle metcalf.

That alpha dog receiver has more head case issues than pickens. Here's just some. (I can handle it, just like I handled pickens. But this board won't survive past mid season)

MR had a fair chance and couldn’t take hold of it. I think he will always be a career back up at this point. I think the best thing to do is give him another opportunity and have Howard come along slowly. If our current QB roster remains then I believe that Howard will come in towards the end of the season for spot duty. Game 12 seems about right to me. Drafting another QB next year will not guarantee success either. Howard will probably be a starter in the NFL eventually but I have no confidence in our coaching staff to make it happen. Maybe that was Rudolph’s issue but Tennessee didn’t see anything in him also.

Pickens wants that big pay day and the Steelers wont pay it. I think they would have gotten more for him if they had dealt him during the draft, not after.
The guy is a straight up beast on the field but his attitude would cause problems.
I would have been happier if we had dealt pickens/tomlin as a package.

I’m really starting to like Metcalf based on this

Pickens didn’t have this type of fire he just was a wimp who took plays off

Funny how this particular head coach seems to have more than his share of "problem" players.
As far as DK Metcalf goes I wouldn't be so sure he doesn't develop the into the same kind of distraction. I've watched too much Seahawks football for my liking since 1999, and have witnessed every bit of Metcalf's career. When he's "in it", he can be one of the NFLs elites. When he isn't happy he's a first class idiot. Sound familiar?? Now he's on an offense that has no QB, no legit #2 WR on the other side of him and an O-line is not very good. Everything about this team, and offense in particular, looks like there is no plan.
It's been a bad off-season and the regular season will expose it.

I’m starting to think the whiney assed GP rather than growing up threw a hissy fit when Metcalf was signed and GP became receiver #2

Then Tomlin/Kahn got tired of his ****

If this was the case then keeping him in the team was no longer an option

Say whatever makes you able to go to sleep tonight.

I think pickens wanted a quarterback instead of living on a pipe dream for one that's not to far away from being in a wheelchair.

Id say great personally given the fact that the team needs all the draft capital it can to acquire a QB in 2026. Whoever he is, I am now convinced he isnt going to come cheap; very seldom do Franchise QBs do. Just gonna have to wait and see.

He has so much heart, he'll smash a helmet onto his teammates.

Just don't get upset when you see him slow down on plays, or not continue to hold the ball tight and cause a fumble.
