I think if we sign Rodgers this perhaps can give us an idea of perhaps what to expect. Obviously different system, coaches and players. I believe Rodgers will have a better system here, better supporting cast of players and he will be a two years removed from his injury.

    Total Offense:
    23rd Steelers - 319 yards/gm
    24th Jets - 310 yards/gm

    Passing Offense:
    16th Jets - 218 yards/gm
    27th Steelers - 192 yards/gm

    Rushing Offense:
    11th Steelers - 127 yards/gm
    31st Jets - 92 yards/gm

    Scoring Offense:
    16th Steelers 22.4 pts/gm
    24th Jets 19.9 pts/gm

    Red Zone Offense:
    21st Jets 54.5%
    29th Steelers 48.2%

    3rd Offense
    14th Steelers 39.5%
    14th Jets 39.5%

    Sacks Allowed
16th Jets 40 sacks on 607 passing attempts
23rd Steelers 49 sacks on 499 passing attempts

    * The sacks allowed leads one to believe that our line was worse than the Jets from a pass blocking perspective. I believe it probably was but it is misleading because Rodgers gets the ball out much quicker than Wilson or Fields did.

** Its obvious the Jets had a poor run offense last year. I think it was a bad offensive line from a run blocking perspective but also they were behind in many games and as a result had to abandon the run game. In addition I think they were really trying to stress the development of the passing game to the detriment of the run game.

I believe if we sign Rodgers and he plays within the system employed by Arthur Smith we can have a top 15 offense if our offensive line develops. That is a big “if”. I am confident we will have improved line play at RT with Fautanu and I believe Frazier, McCormick and Seamalu will have improved play this year due to better health and a year of experience for the second year guys. The only concern is Broderick Jones.

I believe we will pass the ball more (short to intermediate passing in particular and as a result the run game may not be as plentiful from a carry standpoint but more productive and efficient. I can see us staying relatively the same at around 11th in the run game as a result.

I can see our passing game improving, red zone offense improving, 3rd offense improving and sacks allowed improving all resulting in the total offense improving with the additions of Metcalf, Rodgers, rookie RB and Fautanu at RT. Perhaps this is wishful thinking. The lynchpin to all of this being a success is Broderick Jones.

Pretty much a rookie year for Fautanu. So in essence both tackle positions are question marks in terms of what to expect.

I'm choosing to remain positive though.

A positive spin that could be put on this draft class is it’s almost like they had two more draft picks than they did with Fautanu and Wilson both ready to contribute. I’m certain Fautanu will play well, less certain about Wilson but if both excel thats a big boon for the season.

I would add Metcalf as well. So its like three draft picks for the offense. I think whoever is running those underneath routes should have a great year. Friermuth, Washington, Austin, Woods and Wilson should all be fed when they are on the field. I hope they implement a lot more crossing routes to take advantage of how open the middle of the field should be.

I remember thinking the same last year after Fautanu had already gone down, then Wilson tweaked the hamstring and was put in IR, and I was left in this state:
