$2M for getting another vet to help keep the youngsters in check. I don't hate it but also not expecting much on the field from him.

Not sure he'll be here when the season starts. He's not a top 4 WR when everyone is healthy and he doesn't play ST. We could carry 6 WRs though and go light somewhere else.

Maybe. I'm thinking it looks like we may go with s heavy RB rotation this year. We currently have 6 in that room counting the UDFA and Heyward's use at FB.

Also may mean we will see a more diverse offense this season with different personnel groupings depending on the game plan vs the opponent.

what woods could do is help in the middle of the field. he and austin and skowronek can work that underneath while they double one of our outside guys and have to give the other some attention as well. these guys could be beneficial at this possession type of game. i do believe they will let mason use the middle of the field more that we did in the past. we have the players for it now.

No, but he caught a few passes and he is an excellent blocker. We could see him get some run on offense.

I'd be a bit surprised if he missed the cut. We'd carry 6 WR if we want Skowronek to stay around for ST duties. Outside of Metcalf, Pickens, and Austin... we have question marks. I know we liked Wilson enough to draft him in the third round, but we haven't seen him play yet. Skowronek probably sticks around for ST purposes, so that leaves another spot. If someone else impresses in camp we can always cut Woods, but if nothing else he's a reliable depth option if none of the young WR's make the cut.

I'd expect Pickens/Metcalf/Austin/Wilson/Woods/Skowronek at this time. Camp changes things of course, but it is nice insurance against an injury or Wilson not living up to expectations.

I do not want Woods taking snaps from Wilson. He needs all he can get. If he's behind George, Metcalf, CAIII, and Woods, he'll be lucky to get 20 catches this year. Woods has no future with this team. The idea that they would sacrifice his development to get Robert Woods level production pisses me off.

He does, but there's cause for concern with the pieces in play and Tomlin's tendency to lean on his vets. Metcalf and Pickens will function as the two flankers, leaving Austin, Wilson, Woods, and whomever claims the sixth WR spot battling for the slot/underneath reps. It's hard to imagine Woods being a more viable option there than Austin or Wilson at this stage in his career.

He's definitely a versatile player for the offense. You keep saying 'true Fullback'. I'm not sure what you're trying to get out of that. We have 2 players that are listed as FB on the roster now. When they line up in the FB position, that would make them a FB. Some teams use linemen in that role. At least both of our guys actually play FB.

Heyward is an undersized tight end who can't block worth a damn. That's not a true fullback. Mostly, I'd like to see a strong blocker there and they haven't had one in a long time.

I’m concerned Wilson is a bust. He was healthy towards the end of the season and they didnt get him playing time. The excuses they made for doing that doesn’t wash.

Now they bring in Woods which more than likely is insurance for Wilson.

Browns loading up on malcontents. Can you imagine what its like to be a Browns fan for past 40 years? Therapy, and lots of it. Psychiatrists and therapists are printing money in NEOhio and NW PA.

I not only understood the logic but expected it

He was too far behind and was a rookie

I agree with You, but @Blast Furnace@Blast Furnace part about Woods being Wilson's insurance policy is dead on IMO.

Agreed. I would have took cooper. But maybe cooper was looking for a gold mine deal and more promised production.
