So every draft board has us taking everything. So if we do pick a QB, what QB does everyone like? I am curious

Really hard read 4 days out. Dart, Slough, Howard, Sanders, Milroe. Could be any of them! For me my FEELING is Dart or Slough after the first. I wouldn't do it but looking like Sanders in 1st passing on Harmon witch for me is a mistake.

If Sanders or Dart in first, then it MUST be DT, DT, RB! I wouldn't be to happy with the value there. What ever the order these four are a must in this draft for this team. Drop the QB off the 1st and take one later and value comes back. I can see skipping QB all together, or 3,4,5 rd

Tomlin has a Woodie for Sanders, and team grades Dart as a 1st. It's looking like a lock in the 1st. Me I take Harmon, Grant, Barron, Johnson, or Hampton in order.

    Allen.

Well, based on interest metrics (and just what the Steelers usually like) it is likely to be from the grouping of Howard, Sanders, and Dart (we did show some interest in Shough, Ewers, and McCord). I don't see us going in on Milroe and we have no shot at Ward. If we stay put, I think Sanders and Dart are somewhat likely. If we trade back in the first to add a second, then Howard and Shough are potential options. Ewers and McCord seem more like 3-4th round targets, so they could be an option if we stay put and draft something other than QB in the first.

I don't think we end up with Sanders (I don't think he makes it deep enough in the draft). I think the most likely scenario is to trade back, grab another pick, and spend that late first or early second on someone like Howard or Shough and still grab a different position relatively early.

Sanders, Dart, Shough, Mccord. in that order.

Although I think they take a QB high in the draft next year.

Ward, Sanders and Dart will be the only 3 good enough to be NFL starters, the rest are career backups or out of the NFL in a few years.

A candid review of Sanders before draft day:

"If his last name was Breer," an unnamed NFC quarterbacks coach said about Sanders, "and he was coming out of Minnesota, he’d be a sixth-round pick. He doesn’t play with good feet. He’s late on stuff. He has an average arm. His accuracy is OK, but he has no timing, no anticipation. He flashes some throws, but he’s an average player, not a great athlete. Even if you watch his pro day, there’s no timing or rhythm. He takes extra hitches.

If true, it will be interesting to see what they do. 21 too early and he'll be gone after two rounds.

Oh god… I hope that’s not true. Too much focus on athleticism and not enough on proven ability to play the position at a college level, never mind the step up to the pro level.

Dude, we have Mason Rudolph and Skylar Thompson in the QB room, and you are hoping the Steelers don't add anymore QBs in the Draft!!!!!

As much as I want Sanders in the 1st round, I will be happy with a DT in round 1, and then either Qwen Ewers or Will Howard in round 3. The biggest benefit of spending a 1st round pick on Sanders, is we can tell Aaron Rodgers to go kick rocks and let Mason and Shedeur battle it out in camp.

I don't see how the Steelers can come out of this draft without adding a QB to their roster.

In a stunner, Sanders will drop into the 2nd and the Steelers will find a way to trade into the round to snatch him up.

After spending a fair amount of time watching QBs in the last couple of weeks, my thinking is:

    1. Dart is the only one I’d take at pick #21.
    2. If we trade down to the bottom of the 1st or out of the 1st altogether, I could see us taking Milroe. It’s not what I want, and I’d have to go back to his 2023 film to convince myself that it will turn out well. If we do that, we must change to a full running QB style of offense like the Ravens.
    3. I am getting more and more afraid of taking Sanders. Discussion on NfLN last night with an unnamed source within an organization that he came across as entitled in an interview; Hoge’s assessment and just finding it hard to project who he can be based on his college film all contribute to my concern. It’s very clear that he lacks arm strength and his upside looks too limited. I think he can be a legit mid tier QB if the commentary on entitlement is false, but I don’t see a future star.
    4. Later in the draft I like McCord, Howard and Shough. I think each of those guys has a chance to be solid, but they all have their weaknesses.

I continue to believe that if the team believes that a guy is the future of the franchise, it should pull the trigger. Waiting until 2026 risks coming away fully empty. BUT, we should not spend pick #21 on a “maybe” guy just to get a QB.

sanders holds the ball too long. Has a very average arm. Takes too many sacks. Also a very very average athlete. You’re enamored with a name. News flash, he ain’t his dad
    Cliff’s notes just for you.

He’s not a first round talent and we have other glaring issues. No point in taking an average at best qb prospect in a crappy quarterback class

Yeah right now we have 2 QB'S and we need 4 to go to camp with. So even if you take Brady Cook in the 7th we still are 1 QB shy to start camp with. We'll probably have to take a veteran like Tyler Huntley to round out a horrific QB room.

I thought you were giving the Big 12 love.

I was going to point out the Colorado used to be in the Big 12, so Sanders should fit right in :)

if we drat a QB in the 1st round, we are officially the Cleveland Browns East. We have way too many needs to reach for a QB that will be no better than what we already have, we need DL BAD!!! We cant stop anyone from running on us because we have small skinny ILB'ers. I dont care how fast they are, they are easily blocked and they still cant cover anyone. We need big bodies up front to allow these skinny fast ILB'ers to actually use that athleticism.

    • My journey with Sanders: initially down on him --> watched more film --> started coming around on him --> watched more film --> fell back away.
    • I like Dart, still having problems convincing myself he's okay at 1.21. His QB rating from last year when under pressure keeps haunting me. Wouldn't hate it if they took him.
    • I've already done the 2023 thing with Milroe in preparation. IF they commit to a Lamar-style offense, maybe.
    • I like Shough. I'd be willing to kick around the idea of him in the 3rd, but feel there will be a better option there. Don't know that he makes to us in the 4th.
