If you get the chance check out the game versus the Seahawks in 2023. It was a Warren/Harris showcase and I thought it highlighted the challenges that Warren could face as a starter rather than the backup. It also was a good game for Mason.

I think they preferred Harris the last three seasons, when they had both backs. The facts back that up. They started Harris every one of those games. They gave him more snaps. They gave him more carries.

I think they felt they needed to choose and went with the cheaper back with less mileage on his tires. Hopefully, there is a plan that involves getting a decent back in the draft or signing someone like Chubb or Dobbins, because they are delusional if they think a combination of Warren and Gainwell is going to get it done. If none of that works out, they made a mistake passing on Harris's option. Even if they do get a back in the draft, that still might be a mistake because they had to use one of their relatively few picks on a position that could have been settled. Now they have all this cap space and a big hole at running back.

It is, because you are ignoring which guy they started every single game they were on the team together, giving him more snaps and more carries. I guess you think they were playing the lesser guy on purpose for some reason.

How many starts did they give Warren over Harris? Zero.

    Who got more snaps? Harris.

    Who got more carries? Harris.

If they thought Warren was better, why didn't he start? Maybe if they kept him as the starter but gave Warren the ball more, your take would make sense, but they didn't.

    Those are the real facts.

The running game was fun to watch in that game. What do you mean by challenges Warren might face as a starter?

No, you are repeating one fact while ignoring the ones that don't fit your chosen narrative.

Their is no argument that Harris was the bell cow. When Warrens was in there he had a better YPC average and was more explosive. But can he carry the rock 20 to 25 times a game? IDK.

They will draft one in the 4th or 5th and look to a FA. Chubb might be a good fit.

Once they didn't give the 5th year option to Harris the writing was on the wall. Plus he would speak his mind to the media which Bags Tomlin didn't like.

They don't need him to carry it 20-25 times. That isn't the NFL anymore. Only 2 backs got more than 20 carries a game (Johnathan Taylor and Saquon Barkley at 21.6 carries per game each), heck even Derrick Henry was at 19.1 per game. 15 carries a game would be top 15 workload in the league..... I think we should give him like 17-18 touches, which is 14-15 carries and 3-4 catches. That is lead back workload but not overboard if. Then you can spell him with someone else grabbing 10-12 touches. If he proves that he can handle a bit more you can give him another couple touches per game.

He has averaged less than eight carries per game in his career. He has reached 15 once.

This was a refreshing read coming from you. The use of "I think" and limited overreach, facts are concise and to the point. You just might get an A for the day.

Regarding Harris/Warren, I think both sides of the debate are correct with respect to the org's view. They obviously didn't want Harris around anymore. They tendered Warren to ensure they kept him. Personally,I don't know why they didn't pick up an easily affordable option and flex Warren into the lead in snaps this year. Maybe they planned to do that last year, but Warren's injuries got in the way.

Either way, I do agree that with the number of holes they knew were coming this offseason, $6.9M was a small price to pay to take keep one filled. And I don't consider a room of Warren/Gainwell/Patterson to be an upgrade to Warren/Harris/Patterson.

That is largely my point, but some folks don't want to see it.

Regarding the first part of your post, your comment was far from refreshing. It was rude and condescending, exactly the sort of thing you have complained about from me. Please refrain from such comments in the future. Thank you.

We've talked about this in the past. Construct the tone of your posts more like the one I quoted above, and you'll find others will respond in kind.

My comment today was meant to be positive reinforcement, with some light-hearted ribbing.

Your comment was condescending at best, regardless of your stated intent. I have no interest in your positive reinforcement or what you call constructive criticism. You are not a moderator and I don't know you from a hole in the wall, so I have little interest in your commentary on the quality of my posts. I have asked you not to comment on my posts in this way, positively or negatively. That you continue to do so anyway is rude. Though you have posted in a way I have previously told you I find disrespectful, I will still show you respect by kindly asking you to stop doing this. If you want to respond to the content of my posts, wonderful. Anything else is unwelcome and, therefore, rude. Thank you.

Lol. Give me a break, Scribe. You're the rudest poster on this board (no small feat); that's why you're spoken to the way that you are.

I show you respect all the time by responding to your content civilly when you present it that way. I try and nudge you back onto the right path when you start losing your decorum. If you find it 'rude' to be spoken to in the same kind of manner you speak to others, find somewhere else to commiserate.
