Don't waste a pick on a QB is a terrible class, we will regret it, and we already did that once, and **** weirdo Rdogers.

Mason Rudolph/Anyone will do for me, we need to be focusing on '26.

I'm hoping for either Sanders or Howard. If we wait till the 4th, McCord.

Amen to that. There's not one I'd feel comfortable in saying "that's a day 1 starter."
However, Ward will come on line and I do think there could be a late bloomer in this bunch.

In Pittsburgh, I have no idea what that brain trust is thinking.

I have a 'dark horse' plan in my thoughts.
I could go with Mason Rudolph this season and NOT draft a QB and use all my picks to get the best players I can.
I would keep an eye on the Sam Howell situation.
I don't really want to trade for him but would in a pinch if it isn't painful.
I do not envision him as 'the solution' but rather a good horse in the stable to backup Mason.

*I watched him in Washington and he had some real good showings but Scott Turner was not a good OC and I have no clue why Eric Bieniemy thought he could run a KC offense in Washington out of the gates. Seattle did a nice job in re-coaching him though his 1 outing wasn't by any means spectacular. I think there's more there.
But then it comes to question, is Pittsburgh's staff any good at mentoring QB's? I dunno.

At best I would offer some sort of conditional trade.... this gives me a look and see and I don't have to go with a 41 year old QB or waste a pick in the draft and a fallback condition.

I mean, it's just an offensive philosophy difference. We don't have a QB that can run (which puts stress on the run defenders and opens up lanes for RB's to hit a home run), but we do run a ton of heavy personnel. Which means that a back like Harris has a bit more value, as more heavy personnel means more guys in the box. The Chargers offense is very much the same way (and likely why Harris is there instead of elsewhere).

It seems based on our interest in type of back in the HFL draft that we might be trending towards more of a modern back. We will see though.

My point is we drafted Harris four years ago when we should have drafted a smaller after type of running back.

Well, yes. But we put ourselves in a bad spot by not just extending Conner (who is a better back than Harris anyways) and spending a pick at a position we already had semi-solved. Now, the part of the draft our pick fell at didn't have a ton of great options for us.... but we could've addressed OL with someone like Landon Dickerson (who we had some pre-draft interest in) or Liam Eichenberg. Or gone with a CB2 in Newsome (or even ILB with Owusu-Koramoah).

We made a few mistakes that draft... Harris in the first was only one. We could've/should've ended up with Creed Humphrey in the second (though Freiermuth has been a fine 2nd round pick) or Quinn Meinerz in the third instead of Kendrick Green. Stuff like this goes to show how important each draft is, and why NFL GM's make big money (and get fired quickly).

Ever seen him play? The dude knows how to bring the pain. Hardest hitting safety in football. He is going to being flagged in the NFL for hitting people too hard!

I think the Steelers need a little more Pain Givers playing for them.

He's got some potential as a player. Teams are drawn to guys who have a nose for the ball, and Shilo has that. He's a solid zone defender, comes downhill in the run game (with some big hits too), and has position versatility. Sure, he has some warts (hence, why he's a projected day 3 pick), but he has at least a decent skillset to take a shot on. Basically shore up the tackling by not trying to make a highlight reel hit with every tackle, use some of that football IQ to his advantage and move him around the defense as a Nickel or Dime back. If the kid can figure out how to be a plus special teamer, then I don't see why he can't be an NFL player.

Since Sanders is not a slam dunk top 10 pick, I expect him to fall and he will be there when we pick unless somebody trades up just in front of us, but I doubt that.

The Steelers don't currently have an NFL level starting QB. Mason Rudolph and Skylar Thompson are both backup level NFL QBs. For this reason the Steelers will draft a QB. I don't know which one, I don't even know which one I would prefer. But they will draft one.

Classic example of drafting for need instead of best player available. I feel like we did that alot the last 5 years. Instead of building a team we are thinking were just a few players away so we draft for the position often bypassing better players.

The last 2 Manning QBs won 4 Super Bowls combined, so yeah... he will likely be a good starting NFL QB. Genetics do help.

i actually like howell. i wouldn't be opposed to them getting him. i'd still draft this year too. i do like a few. mccord, shough, howard. of course i like mason as well. i could get on board for this year with mason, howell and one of those 3. i also wouldn't mind baker in a year or two if they move on from him. there are many ways to win in this league. hurts is good but not great. he has a ton around him. there will be free agents next year too. i don't see a lot changing until MT is gone and art2 moves on. what i don't want is a big commit to a guy that may or may not be the one. i really want to see a kid come in under arth to find out what we have in him as much as anything.
