Most QB’s drafted today should sit the first year while learning the game. Even Ben was going to be sat his first season and he was much better than anyone in this draft.

If the Steelers draft Sanders though, he’s starting and they’ll tell Rodgers buh buy.

Sanders would be third string if Rodgers signs.

I think he means if they sign Sanders they drop pursuing Rodgers and Sanders competes with Rudolph for QB1.

If they were to pick up either Sanders or Shough, I would cut off talks with Rodgers. They need to be up front with the rest of the room as far as what the plan is - if it's naming a QB1 straight out or competition. Don't yank the carpet if Rodgers decides to commit sometime in July.

I dont know how much difference a 41 year old AR will make for the team anyway. Could there be that much difference between him and an MR with a full training camp and first team prep? I dont think so,

i think theres even an outside chance MR would play better

He is pulling a full Farve. He will lean towards retirement until the Steelers break camp at Latrobe and head back to Southside. For all his darkness retreats, quack medicine, and alternative lifestyle, he doesn't want to spend 3 weeks in cinder block dorms with no ac eating with teammates and avoiding the autograph line.

So, you think Washington should have sat their Rookie QB last year??? And, Houston should have not started their Rookie QB the year before??? Funny, how it is not the #1 overall pick that is breaking out their rookie year.

Agree on Sanders being ready to compete for the starting job.

If Aaron Rodgers does not sign before the draft, and the Steelers somehow end up drafting Shedeur Sanders tell Rodgers to "KICK ROCKS", and let Sanders and Mason battle it for the starting job.

I will continue to repeat myself, Art Roney, Omat Khan, and Mike Tomlin screwed themselves last year, by not letting Kenny Picket and Mason Rudolph battle it out in 2024 for the starting job. I know people like to kick Kevin Colbert for drafting Pickett and Rudolph, but I firmly believe if Colbert was here, we would have seen the Pickett vs Mason show in 2024.

A friendly bet that if they draft Sanders, and Rodgers decides to sign, the Steelers start Rodgers Wk1.

This is exactly what would happen because it would be our best chance at winning week one

Later on it would depend on how the season goes

Mason would be ahead of Sanders to start

I’m not so sure they would instantly tell Rodgers by bie immediately

But I do suspect he would have a short deadline

That would be the honest thing to do based on the conversations Rodgers says they had

This is just shows how useless pundits like Kinkhabwala are and how foolish Fillipponi is for reposting it

They are just posting bull**** for the sake of posting it

Rodgers was very clear on what he is doing and what his thoughts are

If the team can sign a camp cut at say CB who is good they will and if he is better than what we have he will start

I realize QB is the focal point of the offense but I believe the same situation applies

Don’t spite yourself if you have a chance to improve for the season

If Rodgers had been cut by the Jets in July we certainly would consider him

    What's the difference

Damn my thread got some traction!

Art II: I've had enough of this nonsense.

Bags Tomlin: Um common now we can wait um we can wait Artie. um Common.

Personally i'm tired of this team first and foremost but now the drama with this one foot in retirement nutjob is taking it over the top. This MFer won 5 games last season with all the players and coaches that he wanted! Got the coach fired! Although maybe he can bring that magic of firing a coach here? And he is going to come here and save the offense when his mind is so far out in the abyss? He can just walk in and take the snaps? I smell desperation and delusion.

So some random date makes the difference

    I’m just not seeing it

If they believe he can help the team…….

I think they give Rodgers as much time as he needs because he gives them the best chance to win in their opinion.
