Watt is a fan favorite and I appreciate his efforts. But he has bouts of a disappearing act, seems to get nicked up at the most crucial times. And hasn't been a catalyst in the playoffs. The Steelers won't let him walk. Thanks to the stupid clowns with the nutty contract that Garrett received so that is what Watt will be looking for with a dollar more. Garretts contract is 160 over 4 years with $123.5 million guaranteed  I don't know about tying up that kind of dough for Watt.

Minkah can stay or go in a trade. For what he is making expectations are high and I feel he hasn't lived up to those expectations the past few seasons. He is signed for 22,335 mill this season and 24,455 next. Not worth that coin. Dead cap this year is 13,710 and next 6,855. Not good. Unless they restructure him. I can't see a team taking on that contact so he will be here till 2026 season ends I believe.

This taps back into the assumption that whatever draft picks they get for him will turn out to be solid regulars, let alone an equal to Watt (even at 31+ years old).

I think everyone is undervaluing Minkah's trade value. If he regressed as much as some here think, how did he get voted to the Pro Bowl? 2/3 of that PB vote came from opposing players and coaches who obviously consider him worth more than a day 3 draft pick.

That is some serious hindsight you have going there.

It would be interesting to see TJ traded to a NFL darling such as KC and watch how many holding calls he finally gets in his favor. Probably double up his sacks also since players would be less inclined to get penalized.

Just my take on when and where the steelers could’ve done better to prepare for Ben’s retirement. Im sure they're doing their own ‘lessons learned’

They could have done better by starting 4 years before when he actually did retire and not signed an extension when that time came

Even after giving the extension because of whatever reason, at a minimum, the second Ben had the elbow injury, the plan for replacement should have kicked into overdrive.
