Controversial, but Omar Khan and possibly Tomlin should be terminated if they fail to sign a QB

We really owed Kenny a chance last season. So that meant not signing Wilson. Everyone knew he would only come if he was promised the starting spot. Bringing back Mason or signing Fields as a solid backup to KP would've worked so much better.

I don't know why Colbert gets such a bad rep on how he handled Ben's retirement. He signed the #1 free agent QB and drafted the #1 QB in 2022.

That would be like signing Sam Darnold and drafting Cam Ward this year.

Why didn't we sign a meaningful DL in FA?

There's more to transitioning from the face of your franchise than trying to replace his spot on the roster.

KP had a personality change when he was benched over Rudolph. That didn't sit well with the coaching staff.

And maybe a reminder of how bad it got with Pickett on offense:

No, it wouldn't. Trubisky was coming off a year of sitting on the bench behind Allen. Darnold is coming off a career year, better than anything Trubisky has ever done. Pickett was a legit first-round prospect, but not on Ward's level.

    Kenny had a chance

Wilson was not promised the starting job

Otherwise I disagree with all due respect

Canada obviously was not a good OC but that did not cause the coward to not be able to read a defense

He wasn’t even willing to compete for a starting job

Winners make their chances in life they don’t make excuses and blame it on someone else

    Brady for example

    Belichick did not make Brady

    Brady made Belichick

Kenny blew that by asking for a trade. Had he stayed and fought for his job he’d have started that season for the first 6 games and have a shot to lock down the job.

Because both those moves sucked. You don’t get points just for making moves, they need to pan out.

Assuming they didn’t bring Fields in anyway and start him over KP.

he lost his starting job due to injury and then that offseason they sign future HOFer Wilson. What is KP supposed to think? He wasnt being given a fair chance to fight for anything. I dont blame him for wanting out one bit.

As far as not being able to read a defense i dont put too much weight on that belief. Our pass protection regressed that year and KP wasnt even allowed to audible.

No one could predict Wilson would miss the first six games. Plus you really think Wilson signed with the steelers without a commitment by the steelers that he would be the starter?

He was given a commitment to be in the pole position at the start of OTAs

He was not promised he would start

He did not loose his starting job to injury

He was injured and lost his starting job to someone who outplayed him and was winning

    Two different things

How does that change anything about what I said? Had Pickett handled it more professionally he would have been here and he would have started the first 6 games.

Do you really think if Pickett turned things around that the Steelers wouldnt have stayed with their first rd pick?
