The Steelers pick is only 4 picks away. What players do we need to be looking at?

    CB Denzel Burke
DTs - Omarr Norman-Lott, Shemar Turner, Joshua Farmer
QBs - Slough or Howard ( probably too early)
    RB - DJ Giddens

With a QB room of Mason and Skylar, I can't see how you don't go QB in the 3rd round. My favorite QB of this years draft for value is still on the board in Qwen Ewers. Last year everyone was saying Ewers was going in the 1st round in 2025.

Also, April 9th is coming..... I know it is not supposed to change people's mind about who they take in this mock draft, but....

Right out of all my courtroom TV dramas... "The Draft jury is to disregard the signing of ..... today" :)

We need more depth on the O line especially at tackle. I'm leaning towards taking Cameron Williams from Texas here in the 3rd. He's 6'6" and has slimmed down to 335 after playing at 370 his sophomore year. Some draft sites have a first round grade on him while most have Williams as a late 2nd rounder. He would be a good value in the third.

Personally, with the holes we have at different starting positions, I don't see us looking at depth pieces as high as the 3rd rd

But if Jones or Fautanu get injured we are in big trouble at tackle. We could go with a RB in the 3rd because just having Warren, Gainwell and Patterson as our backs isn't good enough. I'm against a QB this high because none of the ones left are anything more than career backups. We can always grab one of these guys in the 5th round or later.

Depth pieces are generally for the 5th rd and down...... for this draft and for what we need, QB, RB and CB are the positions I feel need to be looked at.......
And I respectfully disagree about the QB's... some of these guys are gonna surprise big time.... Howard was successful and produced well at 2 programs... that's not something to sneeze at.... while my vote is for Howard, I wouldn't be mad about Devin Neal or some of the other rb's left in this draft

I definitely don't want a backup QB who probably won't even play this year this early in the draft. We need someone who can contribute right away. Our running game now definitely needs a helping hand so I make my official vote for Bhayshul Tuten RB from Virginia Tech. 210 lbs with blazing home run speed running a 4.32 at the combine.

What are you talking about. There is a good chance that a QB drafted in the 3rd round would be out Mason Rudolph and Skylar Thompson for the starting job before the season even begins. (Those are your only 2 option in the QB room right now)

I still like Qwen Ewers, but watching that tape on Will Howard, I could see both of these kids beating out Mason for the starting job in 2025.

In 2024 Mason had 5 starts and threw 9 Ints. That is not a high standard to beat for a young QB.

I feel like these QB's will be there in the 4th round so I'm looking at CB Jacob Parrish or RB. Waiting to see where everyone else's head is at.

The Steelers aren't going into the season with Mason Rudolph and Skylar Thompson. They will sign Flacco, Wentz or some other bum to start the season with Rudolph as the backup. There just won't be any snaps for a rookie QB. Especially if Rodgers does sign which is likely.

All the RB’s I like are off the board already. There are a slew still available in free agency that I’d rather see them sign.

    • J.K. Dobbins
    • Nick Chubb
    • Gus Edwards
    • Cam Akers
    • Ezekiel Elliott
    • D'Onta Foreman
    • Chase Edmonds
I’d take any of these but the first three guys on that list would do nicely.

I do like Burke at CB, I think that would be a good pick.

I like Shough at QB but the amount of years he has spent in the college system worries me, reminds me of Pickett in that regard.

The QB I like the most that is still available is Howard.

It’s between Burke at CB or Howard at QB for me. Gonna chew on that a little bit longer.

My vote is for Savion Williams. Raw, but talented, I like him as a fit in the role Smith created with 30 year-old Cordaralle Patterson a few years ago, elevating him from return specialist to Swiss army knife for Atlanta. Over the next two seasons Patterson rushed for over 1,300 yards and 14 TD while catching 73 balls for another 650 and 5.

Williams is 6'4"/225 lbs. and naturally athletic (was a QB in high school). Good burst with lateral agility that allows him to cut away from bigger defenders, with the size and power to create mismatches in the secondary. Going to take some work to make him a pure receiver - he's got issues with drops and is a raw route-runner. But the latter is due to the wildcat and backfield schemes they ran just to get him the touches, and that's a role Smith could use him in early on, in addition to some of the short-yardage options they had Fields cover last year.

QB/RB/CB are bigger needs, but I don't like the talent as much here.

Savion Williams, WR, Texas Christian University

I see some mocks have given Williams a second round grade because of his potential. Late 3rd round would be a good spot to take him.

His success could be heavily tied to who drafts him and how they use him. Given what Smith did with Patterson, I think he'd be a dynamic X-factor type of weapon.

Pretty sure he can return kicks as well.

That's where I was. I do like some RBs still available, but not at that pick. Giddens, Martinez, or even Sampson or Etienne if they want to commit to smaller and faster.

Dobbins has a terrible medical history, but I'm still intrigued.

He does but I’m basing my thinking on the assumption that Warren will be the starter so Dobbins wouldnt have as heavy a workload as he did with the Chargers.

I still think Chubb can be a sneaky good signing. He’ll have a full season under his belt coming off injury, he should hopefully be able to regain form this year minus the regression that age brings.

I'm more willing to go with Williams over any of the RBs listed.
We have 2 between the 20s RBs. The Steelers brought in Mafah, who is a bowling ball with a head. He is the short yardage/goal line RB. We'll grab him in the 6th/7th. Maybe even UDFA.

QB should be the choice here. Just my opinion.
