these guys are all similar in strengths. they fit smith's offense well. they need continuity within the position that works with the offensive coordinators vision. too much this guy does this and that guy does that in a system that doesn't fit together to make any of it gel together. we don't have to reinvent the wheel. buy 6 ply's to carry the load and quit flashing them up with spinners and lights.

I get that. Still, I think they could've gone after a couple of guys that weren't released or depth players.

I like Dart among the QBs in this class, but not at 21 among the other positional talent.

Yeah you got me it was Tom Arth and Arthur SMITH.

Tom Arth has had an interesting career. I always thought backup QBs make good coaches, because they have had to learn how to play in someone else's offense. That is why I wonder what kind of experience Mason could bring to an NFL coaching staff when he calls it quits as a player.

    Tom Arth.

FYI. Jackson Dart does not get the Dinner Invite, that all former Steeler 1st round picks have received.

I'd definitely swing on one without overreaching.

Not sure dinner correlates to first rd selections as much as just meeting with the player whether an invite or at their pro day.

@AskQuestionsLater@AskQuestionsLater keeps better track of that stuff, he’d know.

Not sure why everyone thinks next years class is so great. It's Manning and a steep drop off to what this years class looks like. The chance of getting Manning are about 2%.

So next year, is everyone going to be stating, "they better not draft a QB in this years draft, wait until 2027"?

I like several of the QBs AFTER the two assumed top guys. It's a much better draft than the year we DID take a QB in round 1. Pickett was a giant nothing-burger for like 5 years in college and then suddenly broke out. That's usually a giant red flag, late bloomers. It's why so many draft pundits that like analytics are focused on breakout age. 18 or 19 year olds in college that have a big season are much more likely to succeed in NFL. Breaking out at age 23 is yawn inducing.

I certainly hope they DO draft a QB this year. I know they need a young DL in round 1, and if they went BPA I'd be okay with that too (even if an OT/OG or DB or heck Jeanty), but I am also fine if they feel good about Dart or Milroe (personally, that passing deficiency on a stacked Bama team has me very cautious). We NEED a good, young QB. Punting on it every year is going to have us annually signing retreads, year after year, because we "shouldn't waste a pick" on a non-stud franchise-proof QB (that don't really exist, and come along every 3 or 4 drafts and are nearly impossible to get...unless we go 3-14 the year before).

Is Arch Manning really 'that good' or is it more of an assumption because he's a Manning? Like the OP, I don't follow college football closely and with the little knowledge I have of it, Arch hasn't been a full-time starter in college yet, has he? Just curious.

No after redshirting his first year and then was the backup to Quinn Ewers in his first active season last year. He played well in a couple of games while Ewers was injured and still has 2 more years of eligibility so he might not even declare for the 2026 draft.

Yeah, it would be curious to know what is more important for your 1st round pick, a Pro Day Dinner, or an Invite to Pittsburgh to see the facilities and meet the staff.

I know absolutely nothing about Arch Manning but I can also say with about 90% certainty in my mind that a ton of hype is coming about just from the name on the back of his jersey. He may have very good skills but his name sure does pop up a lot for very little experience against notable competition.

I think we should draft a QB this year, the choices for me are Dart or Shough, waiting until next year i don't think is an acceptable option, I get the excitement about Manning and Nico, but it's not certain they will be available next year, Nico might play more.college, Arch most like will be in next years draft but what are our chances of landing him?

Draft Dart or Shough this year, and draft a Qb next year if need be,

Nobody knows how good Arch is he hasn't played a full season as a starter, I wouldn't be surprised if he decided to return to school in 2026.

A draft prospect seeing the facilities is useless

He isn’t picking the team the team is picking him

Invite to Pittsburgh easy Fautanu didn't have a pro day dinner, but he did come in for a visit.
