21 should not be a QB. We already did this once with Kenny. Id rather just lod the team with talent.

    Option 1: Trade down.
Option 2: Harmon, Grant, Barron, or Hampton. In that order

Well if it is, it better be correct. I wouldn't shy away just because Kenny sucked. If we think Shough, Howard, or Dart are going to be good enough to build the franchise around... then go for it.

I am fine with just adding talent and going QB next year though. There are some good DL/CB/RB's that will be available to us at 21. Grant and Harmon are solid choices. Barron and Morrison at CB maybe? Lots of good RB's. My preference at 21 (assuming Jeanty is gone) is Treyveon Henderson, but would be happy with Hampton or Judkins at that slot too. Just get a good team around a QB and give them the best shot to succeed.

The leader so far is Mykal Williams. Dinner with Tomlin at the pro day. Only 1st round prospect so far. I'm not sold he's the guy yet. But if the draft were this weekend I would put a lot of eggs in that basket.

Two things, I don't know that I've seen a mock where he makes it out of the top 10. And, in this scenario, are we letting Watt walk?

Watt is going to be re-signed, and Highsmith is under contract for 3 more seasons. Even if he were there, which is highly unlikely, are you gonna use your first rounder on a back up/rotational guy?

I think it would point in that direction, yes. If we take a pass rusher with our first round pick this season, we are thinking that we are either trading Watt or letting him play his deal out.

I'm not saying that this is exactly what we are thinking, but it appears that we are looking at all options for the future. As soon as next season we could be looking at moving off of Watt, Heyward, Minkah, etc. We obviously would be signing some of the replacements and not drafting (can't replace everyone in the draft), but that would allow us to rebuild around different players, and likely a new young QB as well.

    Just as SG said above.
Plus Williams is not just an OLB pass rusher. He is a movable piece throughout the front 7. Obviously he starts out off ball or purely pass rushing. After a couple years with NFL weight training he may be able to play some DE as well. This is sort of the role Leal has played. So not really something new or out of the box thinking.

The Steelers ranked 25th in pass defense last season. Not sure why adding pass rushers seems out of place.

Almost every mock draft has us taking Dart. So he could very well be the choice.

I mean…. How can a QB be so late on so many throws, with his own guys, at his own pro day, and scripted.

Be careful. That bear cave may be the one where A Rod is doing his darkness retreat

Because he's terrible at throwing a football. He could be an All pro RB if he would give up this facade of being a QB.
