Wilson probably gives them the best chance to win in 2025, that should be enough to convince the offensive coaches to bring him back. Besides Wilson has experience playing with their big acquisition Metcalf.

I’ve seen enough of Wilson. Move on from that mistake.

I don't think one more year of Wilson will hurt them, last year they only had one legit WR on the outside let's see what he can do with Pickens and Metcalf.

I don't want to have this perceived as a bashes Tomlin type comment but this type of thing is part and parcel the type of thing Harris was saying about lacking an identity and Tomlin not having a defined philosophy which he can then say Russ get with it or your gone or telling Smith this is what I want done let Russ cook. By this point with the headcases and poor performances by coaches/coordinators there should be more guys benched, cut or fired than there are and I mean actually firing not retiring them out the door.

During an appearance of Friday’s episode of Get Up, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler said it’s Rodger’s “or bust for” Steelers and they’re in a position to wait on his decision because Mason Rudolph is their contingency plan if it doesn’t work out.

Personally, I can’t stand Rodger’s and am not even remotely convinced Rudolph would even be good enough as a temporary fit.

At least Wilson can throw a gorgeous moon ball. I’d like to believe with Pickens and now Metcalf Russ would be a better temporary option. However, A Smith who’s just another M Canada doesn’t like Wilson so it would take some convincing.

I will never understand why Tomlin's so enamored with Rodger’s, then again, maybe they’re made for one another.

I touched on this in another thread. It feels like they're flailing in terms of personnel. If they like a certain player they go after him, without it necessarily making sense within a bigger picture. Others are value signings. It's created a disconnect I've felt since the legal tampering period opened.

I'm trying to stay positive, but they're making it difficult.

Maybe Wilson's camp should've kept his mouth shut after the season, blaming Arthur Smith for things didn't make sense if he really wanted to return to the Steelers.

A big issue is that the FA QB market just isn’t that good. It feels to me a bit like Cowher’s teams in the late 90s, never really settling on a QB for long. Difference being that Cowher’s QBs needed to manage the game due to the strength of the running game, whereas the current team have come up short on that repeatedly.

Why not. With Rodgers or Wilson the maximum the team will be is 9-8. Play Rudolph all year and the Steelers will get a top 5 draft pick in 2026 and could take a QB like Drew Aller or the kid from Tennessee. Mason helped the Titans earn the #1 pick this year, it isn't out of the realm of possibility that he could do it for the Steelers in next years draft.

I have said "to hell with it" personally.

Be it Rodgers, Wilson or whomever else, I do honestly see this being Tomlin's first losing season. Granted, Tomlin simply doesn't have losing seasons but there is only so much that one can do to prevent the inevitable. Given how this oddball of an offseason has been handled, it wouldn't shock me if this was the season.

That said, 2026 isn't a guarantee either. The Chosen One in Arch Manning is a Redshirt Sophomore; same goes for Nico Iamaleava from Tennessee. Neither has to declare for 2026. If that is the case?! Man.... that takes a massive chunk out of the 2026 QB Class.

Even so, you are correct. This team needs to find a QB and develop him. The long standing question remains is that can Tomlin actually develop a QB?! So far?! That answer has been a big, fat no.

Russell Wilson reportedly wants between 20 and 30 million dollars per year for his next contract. That is almost certainly a sticking point for resigning him with the Steelers. That's a lot of money for a quarterback that's not worth nearly that much money IMO.

Rogers probably won't decide what team he wants to play for until sometime around June.....lol..... He has done this every year for the last couple years. Doesn't let anybody know what his plans are. Doesn't show up for training camp and team events. Doesn't do any of the voluntary workouts. Just pretty much stays on vacation and fails to coordinate or discuss anything with the teams that he's working with.

So things are getting real now for the Steelers QB situation now.

    1 Rudolph #1 or
    2 Rodgers #1 or
3 Blockbuster trade for #1 QB

I thought they would be desperate enough to put their differences aside and give it another try.

Wilson has a rep for a reason. Seattle, Denver now Pittsburgh. Maybe no one giving him a fair shake, if it was only one team I would agree, but it’s 3 teams
