Wow Gerry maybe instead of rushing to hit send and be "first" you should maybe wait until there is something to report.

I never understood this 'first to report' nonsense.

I wonder if it would be better to let Weidl handle this one.

So instead of attending Grant's pro day, they're going to stay. In Pittsburgh. To host Rodgers.

This is the second report that he was at the facility. Players don’t negotiate contracts agents do and that can be done over the phone. I could see Rodgers coming here once to talk to coaches about expectations both ways but that would have been before any alleged offer.

Exactly why would he need to come to the facility now?

Which is more important talking to a potential starting quarterback for this year or talking to a guy that you don’t need to see again other than tape and quite likely will not draft

Ok I’m calling bull**** on you for this one

You aren’t happy with the team and nether am I heck I think there are a total of about 2 people on this board who think life is wonderful

Bitching and moaning is not only allowed here it is encouraged that’s what this board is for along with honestly discussing opinions with accurate actual information

The Steelers have the second best winning record for “the past decade” 101 vs Chiefs 123

I don’t sugar coat my feelings but I do try to do my homework and to the best of my ability I make statements based on verifiable facts and statistics

    :bscow:

Sorry for picking on you but I figure you can take it there is so much false information being posted here

Please don’t take this personal I save that for a select few

    :drinks:

    Rant over

Well, I see someone is on new meds. Grant should definitely be on their radar as a finalist if he's there at 21.

You just said "Exactly why would he need to come to the facility now?" 30 minutes ago. You're right. And now, you're all for them not getting to look at, and talk to these guys that they might make a major investment in? Building relationships with these guys is important, even for down the line. There is no 'down the line' for Rodgers. This guy is an over the hill bum that hasn't been relevant in years. I couldn't be less interested in Rodgers if he owed me a million dollars.

It's funny immediately after it was post here is got 3 push notifications from the Steelers, ESPN, and the NFLall repeating the same information from Gerry.

I realize that it's where modern journalism is heading in the digital age but I still believe getting it right is always better than being first. Just looks bad to constantly have to walk things back if they acknowledge the mistake at all.

You have to talk slow with me; I'm not on the same meds as you.

You said they don't need to see him again and quite likely won't draft him. The latter could be true if you assume he's gone by 21, but the Steelers have a history of attending the pro days of first round picks (Fautanu was an exception last year), and Grant didn't work out fully at the combine.

Besides, Rodgers has only been around 20 years. You need to have that convo today? Last I checked there were six other days in a week on top of things like phones, Facetime, and Zoom. Why not have him over for Sunday dinner? My old high school basketball coach used to do that for those of us that could make 25 in a row during free throw drills. He'd come and stand right next to you if you got to 20.

They met with Grant at the Combine and Austin went to his pro day.
