100% AGREE. But that is what I have been told is the asking price for Aaron Rodgers, and I think Russ is also wanting a 3 year deal as well.

Right now, I don't think Rodgers or Wilson want a 1 year contract.

The good thing about that situation is let Mason start the season and after a 2-7 start then switch to Dart, Cook or whoever the rookie is. If he plays well the last 8 games then good you have your starter for 2026. If the rookie bombs then that's OK too because you then a get a very high first round pick and can draft your next franchise QB then.

 

Go with Mason, draft Dart and let him watch and learn.

 

Dart has had an excellent post season. He was the MVP of the Gator Bowl throwing over 400 yards and 5 TD's. He had a very good week at the Senior Bowl and had an outstanding combine. Add in the fact that he is still only 21 years old gives him the most upside of this years QB draft.

 

I really don't want the Steelers to spend a 1st round pick on a QB this year..


Last year Mason had 5 starts and threw 9 Ints and 9 TDs. You think this is NFL starter material???

 

Mason is serviceable in a Mike Tomczak kind of way but that's about it ... definitely not the future.

Im fine with Wilson coming back on a 1 or 2 year deal that doesnt handicap the team too much. Just to fill out the Qb room with a veteran that knows our system. And we have a capable backup. Just hold off on drafting a Qb till 26. Get a D Lineman and a CB to pair with JPJ.
