Kind of like when those who 'predict' things will happen, make hundreds of guesses and it was printed in a national rag, then when one thing is almost correct they claim that of course their crysatl and ESP Ghosts are never wrong, lol.

Dulak was on Patrick today, of all the local guys he seems to have at least some decent creds. He spoke of the 'plan', and basically it was Fields, they made a compelling offer, but he bolted. Aaron was never in their thinking, yet here we are. When asked about the future, he said something that really hit home and I believe is the reason we will always be here, unless Art goes, MT goes, and even possible Omar goes.

We never have a losing record, he have been in the playoffs, they see THAT as a building block. Just get the guy who can get us a p/o win, then build more from there. Then get the rookie. We need to see that being in the top 46% to get to the playoffs is not enough. Sometimes you have to look hard with in, and start fresh from the top down. The system as a whole, scouting, development, O and D. You do not necessarily have to jettison all your players, but filling holes in a system that is not working, in which more holes develop is just the head scratching insanity we are in.

100%. At least with Justin our team would have defenses guessing. All other options and our offense has no chance. Three and outs will become the norm once again.

The offense was such an unstoppable juggernaut with Fields keeping defenses guessing early last season, right?

Fields had a disappointing 1st half vs. Colts and vs. Cowboys for the entire game, but the whole team was off due to the weather delay. Other than that... he moved the offense consistently enough to win games. Would Steelers have won any of the last 5 games with Fields instead of Wilson? I doubt it... because the O line and defense were below the line.

They were struggling to score against the soft underbelly of the schedule. Tomlin knew the second half was going to be much tougher than the first, so it was time to go back to his starter and see if Wilson could get it done.

But the offense was only averaging 17 PPG with Fields, and that's when Pickens was being a knucklehead because he wasn't that involved in the offense.

If we aren’t contending then why waste the extra money on Fields vs Mason

    Exactly

If everyone in the stadium flips a penny and everyone flipping tails has to leave the stadium. Keep doing this over and over and you get down to one person left. Is that person an expert on flipping a penny?

Depends. What year was the penny minted, and from what direction was the wind blowing?

I have not been able to figure Carr out. He seems good. Above average completion rate. Above average QBR. Not the greatest TD to INT ratio. 33 years old. But has not had much success. I would not hate it, but this seems like one of those where there is smoke, there is fire things. Something seems off with his career. Maybe it is his beady eyes or something......lol

When you suffer after two years of Trubisky and Pickett, an offense that averaged 298 yards over a span of six games seems like a juggernaut

I also wonder what an offense could do if there is any truth behind the claims that Tomlin doesn't want plays over the middle in order to win the turnover battle. Not saying we would see anything different from Trubisky or Pickett as the sample size for them was enough but my god why would you purposely limit yourself that way.

It cant be argued that there was a stretch during Russ first few games that the O looked different, and was scoring a lot of points. Alos cant be argued during that last stretch we sucked, he sucked...it all sucked. One thing a guest said on Patrick today (may have been Dulac), that the squabble between Smith and Russ was during this time. Was it Russ, Smith, and MT? I'm not putting the blame on one person, bottom line the overall talent was/is subpar to better teams, same with coaching.

the steelers are running out of options.

...it's like asking a girl to the prom...the longer you wait, the choices don't get better....they get worse. LOL.

Throwing up as I say this but I bet if Brady came back he'd perform as good as anything we are going to end up with. Come on Tom, go for #8;)

Blaming Bags Tomlin's vaulted defense is blasphemy for some here :lolol: Delusion elite. Average.

Add in the wonderful Bags Tomlin and puppet Smith's archaic offensive scheme. It was like they were mad when Wilson threw for 414 yards 3 TD's against the bungles in week 13 and then they limited him to get him back in the archaic line they covet.

I witness the Eagles and Rams defenses.... and come to the harsh realization Steelers are not even close to elite. Tomlin is completely tone deaf on offense.... doesn't have a clue and never will.

I don’t see Flacco as our savior but if he signed for $4M for one year I’d consider it.

Between him and Mason one of them might step up to being average for a year.

Agree 1000%. The philosophy of the team is to 'run the ball' and play 'tough defense'.

The Steelers were 15th in Time of Possession, 12th in rushing, around where you expect a bottom seed playoff team. They were 12th in total defense but a pretty abysmal 26th in passing offense. Nobody was scared of our passing game. You can't get away with bottom tier QB play and simply be average in the running game, hence why we were blown out in the playoffs.

The Steelers have never adequately rebuilt the O-Line (or improved the coaching) to overcome our deficiency at Quarterback.

The Eagles can get away with being 29th in passing offense because they have the 2nd overall rushing offense, the 1st overall defense, and were 1st in Time of Possession. They focus on acquiring talent in the trenches (build inside out), better coaching, and superior schemes.

Tomlin is completely inadequate when it comes to the offense, and to be honest, not anything special on defense. I would rather have Vic Fangio run my defense than Mike Tomlin, so what does he really bring to the table other than pom-pom waving and snarky comments?

The owner likes him and hates change. Swell.

The QB that plays for the Steelers in 2025 isn't going to get much help and will be handing the ball to a running back fighting to get yards against stacked fronts. That is not going to help a defense that relies on aging stars.

We have great receiver talent, but can the braintrust figure a way for a Flacco or Rudolph to deliver the ball to them?

    I doubt it.
