I just said I found it amusing you didn’t mention him leading up to our pick, not that you never spoke of him

It’s not embarrassing. They needed a QB and if Hamilton wasnt going to be the pick than I felt they need to take a swing on a QB regardless of who it was. I feel much the same way this year, especially without a 2nd round pick.

You can ignore the countless arguments we had over Pickett if you like but thats where my true feelings lie about him. Of course you know this, this is just the way you are.

But as I already pointed out, I felt with every QB needy team passing on them that we too should probably pass. They didn’t and the rest is history.

You know it tracks, why else would I have asked who was the best non QB available right before the pick.

Ok, let’s break these down from the top on what started this brouhaha.

So this is you thinking you’re setting me up because you believed Willis was my top choice which I spoiled when I let you know Hamilton was my top guy. Willis was my favorite QB.

This is you not liking I had someone other than Willis as my top pick for the first rd so you responded by basically calling me a liar.

I responded by using your words against you by saying I do not remember you liking Linderbaum, I do remember you liking Pickett. You had been doing that to me for days so I thought it funny to turn it around on you.

I did not know it would trigger you to dig up a thread to prove you like Linderbaum. This is where you story starts to fall apart.

First of all, you were the one who first acted like I wasn’t being truthful about Hamilton but you went to prove you liked Linderbaum because apparently it bothered you so much but didnt think to acknowledge I actually did like Hamilton when you discovered that. Ok.

I was in fact the only one to mention the guy I liked before our pick. But you didnt care to point that out even after your insinuation. Your first mention of Linderbaum at all came 16 pages after we took Pickett which is interesting.

So having failed at that you then just decided to grab a quote of mine completely out of context and post it to the board with no ill intentions at all. Ok. You chose to completely ignore the countless arguments we had about Pickett leading up to the draft and just grabbed that quote thinking I must have somehow changed my mind after all the arguments and suddenly was a Pickett fan. It couldnt possibly be that the team needed a QB and I wanted them to walk away with one, I didnt care what rd, just that they grabbed one. Can’t hit a HR if you don’t swing. He was on the bottom of my list and he was there solely because of the talk of him being pro ready which if he was, that would obviously be good for the Steelers. Playing next store to the Steelers I was also hopeful that Tomlin and Colbert knew more about him than anyone else.

Hamilton was my top guy, Willis was my top QB, was not a fan of Pickett and had major concerns about him but was hoping the analysts were right and recognized the Steelers needed to walk away with someone in that draft.

Right before our pick I began having doubts they should take one at all since no one else was picking them with those doubts kicking up with the flurry of teams right before our pick that needed a QB and still passed on them which was why I asked who else was available.

You know I felt they over drafted Pickett and that he would have dropped out of the first because we fought about that right after the draft and have done so to this day.
