No hypothetically coulda would shoulda. I think most here were fine with trading a 6th round pick to evaluate what could have been a young franchise QB for the organization.

It turns out it didn't work out. There is a lot less to lose when evaluating a QB. I still think the idea was great. A couple million and a 6 round pick and the guy won 4 games out of 6 making money for the burgh.

I'm pretty sure the last thing on Rodgers mind is losing his job to Mason Rudolph.

He dictates the players he wants to play with and willingly throws guys under the bus to make that happen.
He doesn’t want to participate in offseason workouts to get in sync with his teammates.

Couple that with declining average to below average play while commanding a high salary and most don’t think his current play level is worth it.

It just seems Rogers is hesitant about something. Is he thinking about retiring? (That would.mean that yes he senses Rudolph might out play him, if he is thinking about hanging it up) I don't know

I really don't think he wants to play in Pittsburgh. I think he wants to be a Viking a team that is on the rise and won 14 games last year with Sam Darnold at QB. Rodgers probably thinks that he can take them further.

Ah, I get it the "misplaced" hat is saying he doesn't think the Steelers are the right fit for him, and he wants to play for the Vikings, he would feel "misplaced" playing for Pittsburgh, maybe i am reading to much into it, but yeah it starting to seem thay way, who knows

Why don't we just run with Russ and treat him like a vet and let him cook? As a qb, I dont think they want to play for Arthur Smith.

Look the guy's social construct is his own, to put it bluntly he is rather weird. That in itself does not make what he has done on the football field less, his age has made that a factor both physically and mentally, probably still better than any QB we have had or now have signed. we can't say 'that would mean' anything about what he is thinking, the bottom line is this is a business, you are hiring him at presumably a high cost. So get some balls and set the time limit and get on with your business. They know what he has done on the field, probably have more insight than the public on who he is in the locker room. Are we better with him, in the current landscape most likely yes, are we going to suck more with someone else, most likely yes, but you coddle to this crap and the whole organization could crumble....I personally would not take that risk.

Played in GB for ages, the weather itself is not an issue (except if he can avoid it, who wouldn't like it better). Minnesota offers 8 indoor home game, a tough division he is familiar with, a team that is in the SB ready category, great O minds. Right now their set up is far better than ours, money may be an issue, but for a guy who already has made a lifetime wealth, money itself is probably not the issue. You said in another thread, is he thinking of retiring? That is an an issue, if it's so then he should do it, once it is there in your thinking, it is always something that might crop up, every hit, int., criticism. Why am I here, I could be on the beach. It will be decided one way or another, but hope he makes it for us by saying no thanks.
