Dont care if hi signs or not, only issue i have with him is he is dragging his feat deciding where he signs, Other than that i have no issue with him.. what he says, he does in his personal life is none of my business ( unless he is a pedo, or a woman beater).. I dont care

He's going to drag this out because he loves attention, and perhaps because he is waiting for the Vikings to get involved. I'm sure he thinks teams are free to pull their offers if they don't like it.

Rodgers has less skill than Ben in his last year. Rodgers is worse than a drama queen, he is a selfish cancer.

It`s also nuts to pay him big money.

Ben’s arm was never the same after the surgery.

I don’t necessarily want another old veteran QB, but I don’t think it is fair to say Rodgers has less skill.

    Let's be honest.
    The Jets just released him.
Today is the start of the New NFL year. This is actually where the rubber hits the road.

Rogers isn't the answer... we just need a QB.
Shame on this franchise for flubbing this so bad and allowing this to fester into a large puss filled sore.

Apparently NY is offering more money than the Steelers. Steelers are offering him a better situation. He's currently #7 on the all time passing leaders-yardage and #5 for td's. Those are the kind of things that matter to Rogers now- his legacy. Does he want to pass Ben for #5 in Pittsburgh? He'll need two years of 4k+ yards to pass Peyton for #3. He'll pass Brett Favre for #4 td's this year, but he'll need two years to pass Peyton Manning for #3. Which team is offering guaranteed money next year? Does he want to deal with the NY media again?

The other option was for Kahn not to screw the Steelers for consecutive years. He gambled on fields just accepting whatever he offered and didn’t have a plan b. Now any remaining free agent worth his weight in salt can demand anything they want.

It’s a crying shame that the Steelers are scraping the bottom of the barrel for qbs… what’s even sadder said qbs don’t want to come to Pittsburgh…not a good look

Is it they don’t want to come to Pittsburg or they know their careers are short and it makes sense to make as much possible for as long as you can?

Steelers offered Darnold… he is young… thank Jesus he went to Seattle….also, I know Jets guaranteed more money in his second yr, but other than that price was the same?! Talking about Fields…

According to Chase Daniels the Steelers made an offer to darnold, but the Seattle offer was more. As for fields an extra 10 million guaranteed isn’t exactly peanuts

which way is the team better off? Paying fields 40 million for 2 years or paying the likes of Mr darkness retreat 40 million for 1 year? One scenario we are in the exact same position next year. In the other we might have found a future franchise qb. Do I think fields will lead us to another sb? No. However, this would have been the first time in his career he’s had the same oc in consecutive years and he did show improvement over his time in chicago

They didn't offer Darnold enough. They wanted him, but they tried to lowball the offer and got stuck out in the cold.

They still think being "The Steelers" matters. Same with "The Standard". They are beyond delusional. This franchise needs a 2-15, everyone gets fired, here's the 1st overall pick, of a disaster to wake the F up.

    I
wasn’t particularly fond of Darnold coming here anyhews
No idea what the future is for the current Steelers organization. If we draft a qb , I don’t have confidence in this current coaching staff to develop them.
Absolutely scraping the bottom of the barrel trying to court bad qbs right now
We keep putting band aids on a bullet hole

Thinking along those lines I might not mind a year with us. I didn't realize he did that well. I just saw Jets sucked so I assumed he did too. I see he had better numbers then Wilson.

    Sidebar: I'll still despise him.

As a fan it sucks when guys hang around and hinder the team but you are correct about the short careers of Pro players. I would stay as long as I could if I was a Pro. I'd want to make those big dollars as long as I could.

if he can stay upright he would probably have a pretty good year, I see Peyton (when he could hardly play) lifting a SB trophy for the Broncs, Brady for the bucs, Montana in an AFC champ. game for the Chiefs.

I also see Namath, Unitas, and other aging guys on their butts in new team uniforms, lol. We would probably see the latter, with a splash of good or even great games from Aaron, not enthused at all.

Rodgers is the one holding things up. At this point it appears the Steelers want him. But he is talking to the Vikings today. I don't think he is enamored with A. Smith playcalling. He is giving the Vikings time to determine if they want him. If he really wanted to be a Steeler he would have signed by now.

    .
    There might something to that.

Imagine this: Rogers signs big money deal with Steelers, right, lots of publicity, Rogers the man, superbowl, yadda yadda, the younger Mason clearly out plays him in camp, preseason, Rogers comes out meh in regular season and gets benched by week 4, Mason comes in and becomes a hero takes us to the playoffs, where we finally win a playoff game w the HOF very pricey Rogers on the bench cheering Mason,

Is that the situation Rogers wants to put himself in? Mason is seasoned in this league and probably has not reached his full potential, this may be the year for him. Rogers very well may want to go to Minnesota where his competition in McCarthy will be a lot less threatening, that would be so cowardly of Rogers to do that,

If your demanding all this money you should be confident enough that you can take a team like the Steelers w Smith, as OC, two of the most talented receivers in the game, to a superbowl,

The steelers are the right move for him if he is any good, to not take the opportunity here would be cowardly in my opinion

But hey he can do whatever he wants
