Some actually have and share legit information. However, until the contract is signed nobody should be making claims about a player leaving or staying. People inside the org might say we want x player back;however, the proof as they say is in the pudding. Kahn decided to **** around with fields and he took an offer with more guaranteed money. Guaranteeing fields the money should have been a no brainer. Even at 20 million guaranteed that’s cheap for a starting qb. Now they’re stuck with a 40+ year old rogers commanding 40 million. Where does that leave us? Right back in the same position next year. Scrambling to find a qb

Yep. And the irony is Rodgers will want half the contract guaranteed as well so PIT is back to the same problem.

DK just signed a huge contract. GP is still on his rookie deal.

There are media reports. This isn't Dulac throwing crap against the wall, which seems to be all he does these days. Ray Fittipaldo, who does actual reporting, has written that there is a 50/50 chance Pickens will be gone before the season starts. It isn't as if people on this board are making that up out of thin air.

They really aren't. Check with people who have watched Metcalf closely in Seattle. Everything I've heard and read is that Metcalf goes all out all the time. We know Pickens doesn't do that.

I doubt it’s 50/50. Probably way less than that. I think there is little chance he is moved.

They are making moves that signal they are all in for this season and why they are hanging on Rodgers decision as they must feel he can lead them to a SB. Whether that seems laughable or not doesn’t matter, the Steelers have said they will try to win the SB every season no matter what.

Paying slay 10 million, bringing Metcalf in, Rodgers should they land him, all signal they are trying to win this thing. Getting rid of Pickens flys in the face of that.

Or they are doing this stupid in-between thing that they have been doing for years. I hate the idea of trading Pickens unless they add another starting-quality veteran receiver, but I'm growing more disappointed the current Steelers' brain trust every day.

I get what you're saying. But what if they were able to deal Pickens and regain the Metcalf pick, then sign a Kupp or Cooper on a two-year bridge? Every draft has talent, but this one has a lot of good players in the late-first to mid-third range. And if they don't extend Pickens and he leaves next year, they don't see the comp pick until 2027 - two more years on Heyward, Watt, Fitz, etc.

I'm intrigued at the idea of Pickens and Metcalf on the same team. At the same time, they're cut from same cloth as receivers. It might be more beneficial to have a more polished route runner in there on 12p sets.

I just think you are hurting the team by doing that. Kupp and Cooper are on the downside of their careers and the way both finished last season is real concerning. I feel Metcalf and GP would be among the best WR tandems in the league.

Id rather trade back to try and recoup picks. Or maybe even move Minkah but then thats opening a big hole so probably best to try and trade back.

They're both dynamic receivers, no doubt. But with both being known as vertical threats and Smith liking 12p more than most, I worry the o-line giving whomever is behind center enough time to deliver the ball.

I could live with trading down for a good return, I just like Grant and Harmon a lot. Grant may well be gone by 21, don't see Harmon falling much further.

Update on the Metcalf trade: the picks have been finalized. Obviously the Seahawks get our 2nd (52), but they also will receive one of our 7ths (223) while we get their 6th (185).

    So our current picks are:
    1st (21)
    3rd (83)
    4th (123)
    5th (156)
    6th (185)
    7th (229)

They aren't getting Kupp. He wants way too much money and there is too big of a market for him. Cooper could help, but it is concerning that he didn't do all that much with the Bills.

I think we had 3 7th rounders and are now down to 2 .
I like getting the 6th back.
