If they lose out on Rodgers or if Rodgers will cost a ton of money then yeah, just roll with Rudolph and try and grab a QB you like in the draft.

We all saw how he finished with us, and he did that with worse WR and a worse line.

I also am ok if we make trades and pay those guys, as well extend our own to paying them.

Let's see how the season goes and adjust from there to getting key pieces. Because this year, we are not a couple pieces away. We have a lot of pieces we need.

Rodgers wants to get paid. If he wanted to be here, he would.

    bwahhahahahahaaa

    Tomlin sucks!

I told you all LAST OFF-SEASON to keep Mason here and build around him. He showed strong promise in this SUCK ORGANIZATION that he could play, by the way he finished the 2023 season and thrust us into the playoffs

Tomlin is a COMPLETE buffoon / clown. we will suck until he is rooted out of this organization

I think he might be mulling retirement.

I think having made 400 million dollars already that going out with a title is more of a driving force than money at 41 years old.

    Who cares at this point?

QB in '26 should be the goal.

I don't want Rodgers and I don't want Wilson back either.

It all depends on how the Rodgers saga plays out. If Rodgers signs, Rudolph is #2. However, one can't assume Rodgers will stay healthy all season.

Say we miss out on Rodgers?

Do you believe there is a number one qb among the currently available FA qb's? I have to say no. So Mason wins by default.

Stick with Mason as #1, draft a #2 and you have Skylar as #3. If we can get Howard or Shough in the 3rd or 4th round, we will have at least something to build upon.

I would start him, but I would draft a qb, and if he showed anything start the rookie by game 6. There is no future or upside with Roger's, why waste another year.

Yep. If he were to come back I'd think the Giants are his third choice. Enthusiastic coach and great young WR, but not contending for anything yet.

The Vikings and Steelers are tougher. The Vikes probably give him the best chance, if they'd agree to letting him play over McCarthy for the season. They've got great receivers, his old friend Jones is back, and their D is solid (they even kept Murphy from departing in FA).

For us, he apparently likes the town, and Tomlin. He's got two plus receivers, Freiermuth is solid, defense is solid, RB is a little sketchy right now. Of course if he reads this board he'll know we aren't winning another playoff game until Tomlin's gone so that could be a dealbreaker.

Either way, I think he wants to ensure that if he plays again things go way better than the two years in New York. If Aaron has anything at this stage, it's pride.

Right now Rudolph is out starter with Thompson as his backup.

Yes. I've always been a believer in Mason Rudolph. I think just getting him back in the lineup will be a great thing. He understands the Steelers way of doing things better than anyone on the team, at least at his position. He was also a figure that the players all seemed to respond very positively to - well, except for Pickett, anyway.

Even if they're going with Mason #1, and they draft a guy, it still wouldn't surprise me if the tried to upgrade their 3rd QB spot.

    Thompson sucks.

I’d prefer to go with Mason than give Rodger’s a huge deal at his age and with all the baggage he brings

If the Falcons cut Cousins in the next few days I’d bring him in on a minimum deal if he is agreeable. Between Cousins and Mason you’d get acceptable QB play and it would leave money for another piece or two.

Mason verified that with his play last year

To be fair, look at the team he was playing for. And then, to be extra fair, compare that with his work in Pittsburgh. It blows my mind that Rudolph can never seem to get any respect from Steelers Nation. What would he need to do to demonstrate that he might not actually be a bad QB? He got the team into the Playoffs when he was called upon a couple years back despite the team looking cooked after the Canada debacle and Kenny looking less than stellar even prior to his injury. What part of his 8-3-1 record do you think means he's a terrible option?

If you want the team to go 4-13 then yes Rudolph should be the QB. He was terrible last season with the Titans. The Titans finally benched the gawd awful Will Levis and named Mason the starter for the rest of the season. He was so bad that after a couple of games the Titans had no choice but to put Rudolph back on the bench and put Levis back in. Rudolph has the distinction of losing his starting job to Duck Hodges and Will Levis during his career.

he's got a lot better team here than he had in titan land. i said this earlier, go get kyle allen or cooper rush and draft one. we will win games with these guys and who they have added. add to this o-line and protect them and they can do some damage. they won't cost a lot. get juszczyk. he is capable of being a short yardage back. i'd love that move. he is a hard nose football player.
