Seems to be the two most likely options. There's really only one other chance and it's maybe QB, but I expect that is to change here in the next 48 hours. Outside of that CB? Maybe?

We can choose which position to fill in FA. I think we draft a RB either way, but one of DL or CB are going to get signed here in the FA period and the other is probably going to be the other first round pick choice. Its RB or DL/CB depending on which we choose to draft.

I wonder if jimmy garopollo would be a decent qb for us. But I'm not sure he fits this offense.

If we go RB I hope it is Omarion Hampton this kid is huge with great speed, I would draft him at #21.

I think there are a couple I'd be okay with. I would take Henderson at 21 in a heartbeat.... and Judkins potentially too.

Or trade back a bit to get back some of what we lost. Dropping back 10 spots to KC's position could get us their early 3rd round pick along with their first. A team like NYG might be willing to trade up from their early second with an early 3rd to get there... That would let us take a RB and recoup some of what we gave up via trade (though not all of it).

They were talking about Dulac's post on the Fan this morning. They think it means that the signing of Rodgers is more likely than not.

It definitely feels like the Steelers are going all-in to keep their window open before their stars start to age or potentially decline (which may already be happening). If they can secure - via free agency or the draft - a solid QB, DT, CB and RB - positions they have the cap space for - and extend TJ, we could be in a much stronger position than many realize. DK really was such a strong move and completely changed the dynamic here.

Probably just making some buzz. We will likely know what we're doing at QB by the end of the day. Fields will determine if his market is what he hoped, we are apparently going to consider a Darnold contract too, and now Rodgers is in the mix. QB is the first thing we will take care of in the FA period, and I'd expect we would have a pretty definitive answer by the end of the day today.

    Go us!
This year, the Steelers are already spending like never before. The franchise that drafts and develops receivers better than any other team will give receiver D.K. Metcalf a contract with a new-money average of $33 million per year. That's only $1 million less than the new-money average of one of quarterback Ben Roethlisberger's late-career Band-Aid deals.

The structure of the Metcalf deal will be revealing, too. For non-quarterbacks, it's rare to get fully-guaranteed money beyond the first year of the contract.

Regardless, the D.K. dollars are staggering, given Pittsburgh's history. Usually, that money goes to players who already played for the team. The idea of a stranger to the franchise breaking the bank is strange, to say the least.

And it could have ripple effects. Linebacker T.J. Watt currently is in line for a new deal. What will he get? Receiver George Pickens seems to be SOL for a second deal in Pittsburgh. Other young players might be wondering whether they'll get their reward in Pittsburgh, or elsewhere.

33 million a year, for a # 2 Wr with 5 Tds last year seems extremely high to me

It ends up being less than that as his one year he had left on his previous deal was extended. It pans out as 150 million over 5 years as a 4 year extension.

It's a lot of money, but that is the going rate for the position in today's league. Higgins was looking at a 30 million/yr average and has been about equally or a bit less productive than Metcalf over his career. Metcalf also didn't really have the benefit of having the best WR in the league lining up alongside him to take the double teams away. He was the double teamed guy... I think the deal is pretty fair. If we can get a guy that goes over 1,000 yards consistently and grabs 8ish TD's then it is worth the price. I think he should be able to do that pretty easily in years where he is healthy.

If we sign Rodgers, the Khan-artist better trick the Jets into paying his salary.

Thats about the only way I will like that move.

Metcalf hass been in the league 6 years and Has 3 years of 1000 yards. Pickens has been in the league his 4th now and has had 2 1000 yard seasons give or take a yard or 2 and hasn't had a qb since he entered the league....????

ESPN sources: Former Steelers left tackle Dan Moore reached agreement today on a four-year, $82 million deal that includes $50 million guaranteed with the Tennessee Titans. The deal includes in $30 million in year one and $50 million in the first two years.
Jeff Nalley and Graylan Crain of CAA negotiated the contract with Titans president of football operations Chad Brinker. The Titans now have a new left tackle to protect the blindside of whoever plays quarterback.
