Now you are right back in the same boat needing a 2nd WR. Going into the season depending on a rookie is not a good plan and the FA WR’s don’t move the needle.

DK and GP immediately become one of the best WR combinations in the league.

This is what tempers my excitement a little bit. I do think DK is a WR1, however, JNS is more of the skillset that I was looking for in our WR1 and is the reason he got more volume. He can move the chains with more consistency. I think the Steelers still need that WR. Can CA3 develop more? Roman step up this year? Even Pat. The field should open up quite a bit if we keep GP with DK to allow for someone else to move the chains and not just be the big play guy.

DK, GP, CA3, PF, Wash, RFA Warren.... these are all big play guys.

The combo of Pickens and Metcalf is a good one. 2 tall WR's, one can be a possession type, the other has big-play abilities...
I think you can have speed off the bench in Austin or maybe Wilson...
They need to secure the ground attack. Beef up the O-line.
And find some answers to apply some pressure on opposing QB's.

i agree karl. ricco dowdle i think would be a good one to go get and team with warren. they added parham, they have muth and washington. big targets, good blockers downfield as well. shore up the OL. lot's of DL help deep into this draft as well. use that to there advantage. if they do indeed cut or trade ogunjobi and seumalo to aquire some other picks and cap space.

I think they did want him, Metcalf requested a trade after he realized that the Seahawks were headed into rebuild mode.

Agree. TBH, they are both excellent deep options and will keep the opposing team from cheating their safety on top of GP every play and just going 1v1 everywhere else. Now we have two guys that can win and win deep, so the offense should have a lot more room to operate. Couple that with a more explosive backfield with Warren + draft pick (hopefully a pretty early one) and the offense should look a lot better nearly regardless of who is throwing the ball.

We shouldn't want to. I wouldn't for anything less than a first round pick, and even then I would prefer we find a way to keep him around. He's going to have a much easier time getting open this year with Metcalf lining up on the other side.

We should trade to get Kenny Pickett back now that he's a Super Bowl champion.

Seattle is doing the right thing by going into rebuild mode. They got tired of being stuck in the middle.

My fear is DK will help the Steelers continue the pattern of 9 or 10 wins and a first round playoff loss.

There is nothing worse than being stuck in the middle.

Trade Pickens for a 2nd and 3rd. Trade out of the first rd for two 2nd rd picks.

And have three 2nds and 2 3rd. I think we can fill lots of holes that way.

Nah, he probably already follows Russ from back in their Seahawk days and he is one of the players who truly likes and respects Russ. Following Fields is simply common sense. Those are the 2 nost likely future options.

You say that until they spend the next decade drafting in the top 10 and still not finding their QB... An early draft selection doesn't guarantee getting out of purgatory at the QB position, and even getting the QB right doesn't necessarily mean you're going to contend for SB's.

They hired a new coach and their GM got the title of Head of Football Operations too... They felt Geno wasn't the guy getting them over the top and Metcalf didn't want to be around for a new rookie QB. Is what it is.

Can't blame us for improving the team. They would rather try to win games than roll the dice on the QB lottery with the real risk of getting stuck as bottom feeders for years.

The only problem with that is that we would almost HAVE to draft a WR first if this were the case. We'd also be passing on really nice talent at WR and DL by trading out of the first entirely.

Not sure that this makes the team better. Drafting secondary talent at all the positions we have holes in currently by creating a hole at WR that we filled yesterday doesn't give me the warm fuzzies.

Too bad and I don't care. I hope they give Metcalf #14 too. Suck it up or go cry somewhere else.

I just dont foresee Pickens being all in this year. I could be wrong. He knows he isn't getting paid here now, so he is probably going to half ass it more than usual.

Best to avoid that problem by preemptively nipping it before it starts.

Exactly. We have other needs, like DL, OL, corner, running back, and need to figure out who is exactly throwing the receivers the ball. Pickens is on contract for another year.

This isn't a deep WR draft. It is a deep DT draft and we need to build depth there.

I'm alright with giving up the second round pick it eliminated the need to draft a WR within the first two rounds, and he's a proven player already.

If they keep Pickens they will face less loaded boxes.

I see there is nothing about this on the Steelers site

Perhaps it’s not official until March 12 when the new year starts
