Personally I don’t get caught up in the money part that is Kahn’s job

I just look to see if the player is better than what we have

In this case I think so

It might be a good fit for Fields, who can throw a nice deep ball. If they aren't open deep, the receivers can clear out the safeties and give Fields more running room at the second level if he scrambles.

However, I largely agree with you. There is a lot of redundancy in their games. Perhaps the Steelers will look to trade Pickens and diversify their receiver room in the draft.

Absolutely he is. A true number one receiver. My niece is a Seahawks fan and is pissed that they traded him......lol..... He will elevate the game of all the receivers hopefully. With him and GP on the field, no more cheating the safety to cover GP, and the choice of who to stick the best defender on becomes much harder. Might even open the game for the TEs....... He is expensive, but there's a lot of reason to hope. The Steelers are going to have to commit to making the passing game a bigger part of what they do. Can't just use him as a decoy.

I'm assuming that its a joke about the fake punt they tried last year where the guy was wide open and dropped it.

Maybe just maybe DK Metcalf is a step up from Van Down by the River Jefferson.

Got my trade wish from last offseason. I wanted to bring DK in back then. I'm loving this!!! Who should I wish for now? Burrow?

Love the player, don't love the cost. I'd have been great with either using money to get an impact WR, or using a high pick, but we just did both. That's two bullets on one hole, on a team with lots of holes.

It's an old joke about QBs that like to throw it downfield expecting their WR to make a play.

I hope Cinncy enjoys paying Higgins $26 million this year, cause next year it's probably gonna cost 35.

Now they don't need to use a high pick to get a WR that's one hole they don't have to worry about.

The Seahawks are rebuilding. They just traded away their starting quarterback. Metcalf knew this and asked for a trade.

He asked for a trade before they traded Geno. He asked when they released Lockett.

If they keep GP at least this year then this is a good trade. No way Gp is extended they can’t afford to put that much money into one position. I feel like GP will ask for a trade because he isn’t going to want to play out the year with out any guarantee beyond this year and risk getting injured. As a result from my perspective we upgraded slightly and depleted our cap space significantly and lost a second round draft pick. I feel like Gp has better hands than DK but DK plays hard on every play, is faster and a better blocker. We still need to get two Cb’s (slot and outside), a DT another Wr and a Rb as well as Ol depth. Plus pick up a QB. Now we have one less draft pick and less cap space to achieve all of this. I was hoping for a Wr that could coexist with Pickens and not break the bank like a Slayton.

Within an hour of the trade, DK Metcalf followed Justin Fields on instagram. Maybe nothing, maybe a lot.

It makes you wonder if Metcalf talked to the Steelers before the trade about who their QB is going to be.

You'd think with most sports agents wanting to control the narrative around their clients, that they would tell them not to do things like following members of a new team before the ink on the contract is dry.

He had to have. Considering the contract was signed as the trade was being made there was definite contact between his agents and the Steelers.

I'm sure he did. We can't make any guarantees though. We could tell him Fields or Darnold, but neither have to sign with us. The money and the overall team around him (defense and ST inlcuded) were probably allures. Seattle is in full rebuild mode and we are trying to get playoff wins. Plus he got the contract he wanted. Win-Win for him
