We need to get younger at DL some time... I think a 1 - 2 DL draft improves our team very minimally in the short term, but obviously helps a lot in the long term. We'd have to be prepared to spend a ton of money in FA or through trade to bring in some playmakers though. It doesn't matter how good the defense is if we can't move the ball.

I have no interest in the combine at all. Never have. You would think with all the film you have on these young men from college you're not going to change your mind based on the combine. But then I'm an old guy I can't imagine watching the thing. If you do good on ya

I'm retired with nothing better to do so I watch the combine because it's football related. I don't really follow any other sport and it's better than watching Gunsmoke all day long which I usually do.

we have tried to get younger on the DL. we just haven't gone 1-2 for a long time. we drafted leal, benton, lee. we gave cam a ton of money. that wasn't for just 1 year.

the o-line is not complete. again we need to quit doing half the job and complete the line for the future. both lines.

ogunjobi can go and we can fill that hole with a cheaper more productive younger player. they are out there.

leal hasn't shown a thing. time to move on from him.

draft collins in the second and team him with cam and benton and draft another later or next year as well. we have to see what lee and slade have before we replace them. lee for sure. we did draft him so we saw something there.

lowery can give us some depth for a year. as can adams.

I wish the media would stop giving all of this air time to guys who are healthy but won't work out at the Combine.

Yeah, but 2nd and 3rd round picks, while still high enough capital, isn't the same as drafting that "stud of the future". Sure, some of them turn out to be (Hargrave for example), but 2 of our 3 projected starters are over 30 (cam being way over 30). Lee is a project and one that we'd be happy developing into a solid back up/rotational guy.

The OL should be pretty complete, we don't HAVE to keep going there. We spent the draft capital (two first round tackles, a second round center, and a fourth round guard), now its just time to develop these guys into good players.

We can move on from Ogunjobi if we wanted. I doubt we are getting a ton younger in that move, but a short term contract at or less than his current number could yield a good player (I'd be interested in BJ Hill for 2ish years). No reason to move on from Leal until after camp. He's still going to have a shot to make the squad, so either he figures it out and stays or he doesn't and gets cut.

I like the idea of someone of Collins' size. They have to be a good enough athlete to stay on the field in sub package play, otherwise its just a base NT and not really worth a day 1 or day 2 pick. No reason to worry about the young guys, as they cost nothing and can be developed and kept on the PS if they are close but just outside the roster. Don't have to make those decisions on them yet.

Agree on Lowry and Adams. Adams is a really nice back up IMO. He's done a really nice job for us since we signed him off some other team's PS. He's been solid when called upon, selfless, and a great team player. At 29 years old, he'd be great for another 2-3 years as our top interior line back up.

So they base this on one run? Noone plays at full speed all the time. I really have no idea where I was going with this. Carry on!

Traditionally, a cb's 40 time is weighted more heavily than other positions because it most closely correlates to what a cb does. That and shuttle.

And the fact that his time is ridiculous, that's going to raise his value based on potential. He was already thought of as a mid 2nd to early 3rd rd guy. That time probably moves him into the top 40.

Emmanworri was already considered a late first round pick and has locked up a first round choice after today. Almost 6'4" and 220, he ran a 4.38 and had a vertical of 43 inches, that's just crazy.

the o-line has one more position that hasn't been addressed. finish the job started. only one of the 4 picked have really looked like keepers for sure so far. just because you pick them doesn't make them good enough always.

alfred collins would be a steal in the 2nd round. just because you have a round 1 before your name doesn't always make you the better player and fit for a team. jpj was actually a 2nd rounder. we haven't had a 1st rounder back there forever.
