I have been upset with Khan on numerous issues, but I have to tip my hat to him for getting the Steelers to have the least dead money on their Payroll.

2025 NFL Team Salary Cap Tracker

I was surprised to see the Eagle with the most dead cap at $59.9 million. This will probably be why the Eagles are not a Dynasty. When you are spending $60 million for players that are not on your team you are in trouble.

Wow, $45, 335 is just so far under most teams is just crazy. You have to add another ZERO, to get to the 2nd lowest team, and then you have to add another ZERO to get to the 4th lowest team the Chiefs at $2,084,515.

I guess the Steelers coaching style of not firing people until their contract expires, is the same as their Player style, of not releasing players until their contracts have expired.

This tells me the Steelers don't have enough good players worth paying. Khan and Weidl have work to do. Tomlin needs to get out of the kitchen, but we know that is not going to happen.

No, I am saying if the Steelers draft picks in general over the last five years were good enough to get second contracts the Steelers would have more dead money, because they would have to cut or restructure contracts. The other reason is the Steelers have not had to pay for the $40 million QB over the past 3 seasons.

I am lost... What does a $40 million QB have to do with Dead Cap Space? Do you think Denver eating all of Russell Wilson's money in dead cap was a good thing for the Broncos?

Dead Cap is more about guessing wrong on Players, than anything else. Signing players to contracts they don't deserve and then giving them money when you have to admit you were wrong for ever signing them in the 1st place.

I love to bash on Khan, but on this 1 particular item, he is totally kicking ass. All the Steelers money is on the Field. Is that a line from Moneyball???

when we had to kick the can down the road with ben and a few others, we are finally down the road.

of course we have no QB, lost a starting RB, lost a starting LT, lost a starting CB, only have one good starting WR that will need paid, lost a starting guard, are losing both backup QB's. that is a lot of holes to fill. when you have to start cutting guys that are not effective anymore or need more cap money to improve positions, that is when we will start to see some dead money creep back in. our offense besides wilson was one of the youngest in the league for awhile. as we fill these holes it may creep back up. putting the money on the field is one thing but the quality of what you put on the field has to go hand in hand.

Kahn's strongest point has always been with numbers, that is why Weidl was hired,
plus to rein in MT in the draft process. Rooney's didn't put the proverbial all the chickens in one basket
with Tomlin, there are actually checks and balances when it comes to the draft/player selection.
Here is hoping Weidl and company hit a home run in 2025 draft. God knows we need it.
