I thought Jones would have been a good QB and I still catch myself thinking maybe it was the situation but then I remind myself about Trubisky and how that was the argument for him.

Burrow goes to SB and it looks like the Bengals are about to dominate the AFCN for many years to come. I watched him that Championship season at LSU (damn daughter-in-law is an alum) and I knew Bengals had #1 in the draft. I figured that was it, within a few years Bengals would own the AFCN. While it is great to have a "franchise QB" you still have fill 21 other positions for a team. New England did it right getting Tommy boy what he needed.

Sweat likely wont be with Philly much longer either. I believe he was on a one year deal with Philly. Would love to have him.

looks like jacob davis their NT may hit free agency. i saw they probably wouldn't take his 5th year option. he played pretty well for them but they have other decisions to make for cap money. might be another pickup for our DL. with weidl's knowledge of philly i would think they are looking hard at several players from there.

My son-in-law is an Eagles fan, and he was telling me about their organization. He says Howie Roseman is a wizard and won't have to unload as many players as people think. I would love to have Davis. We are in desperate need of a great NT. We need another Big Snack

Even if they don't pick up his 5th year, Davis is still under contract through 2025. I don't see Philly letting him go; they've spent some time adding some pass rushing skill to his already formidable presence as a run-stuffer.

    Love to have him, though.

People continue this practice with Fields. Like he's magically going to become something he's not.

I am just curious how much we are going to overpay Justin Fields this year.

As of February 2025, Justin Fields' market value is estimated at $6.43 million for one year, according to Spotrac. This would make him the 27th-highest paid quarterback in the NFL

Mitch Trubisky's last contract with the Steelers was 3 years for $33 million with incentives; I can't imagine Fields signing for less money.

Exactly what does Trubisky’s contract have to do with Fields

I am suggesting Trubisky's QB contract should be the floor.

If the Steelers were willing to give Mitch a 3 year $33 million contract, anything less for Justin Fields would be an insult.

How are you comparing Fields to Trubisky

Even you posted that the market value is less

You have to take their estimate with a grain of salt. They're deriving his market from guys that are clearly not viewed as long-term starters. Fields, due to his age and physical intangibles, is still considered to have some upside.

One of the guys in their comparative pool is Gardner Minshew, who just signed a $12M AAV contract last year. Field beats him handily in stats across the board save passing yards/game. But the rest of the group - Mills, Mariota, and Garrapolo - were clearly signed to be backups, and as such drug the estimate down.

Because wasn't Mitch the last Free Agent QB the Steelers signed to a multi-year deal?

I thought last year Khan low balled a few free agents that the Steelers missed out on. If the Steelers low ball Fields and don't even offer him Mitch Trubisky numbers; I am going to be pissed if Fields signs with another team.

The "estimated at $6.43 million for one year, according to Spotrac" is a joke. Like I said, Field's new offer should be at least what the Steelers offered to Mitch. (3yrs 33 million)

Different skill set. You can build a system around him like Jackson where he doesn’t have to be an elite QB.

If Fields improves enough to be on Jackson’s level Id take that in an instant.

What, this went over my head.

I don't have anyone on ignore; because I don't know how to do that, and I really don't care. I am just here to have a good time.:)

What? Where is that coming from? I know that Tomlin liked him a lot coming out of college, but where is there any smoke about a trade?

the eagles want to try to trade him. i'm saying the steelers should look into it. i was naming guys the eagles are looking to possibly release for cap room and draft picks. not that the steelers are in trade talks with them. weidl does seem to lean towards guys he had ties with in philly. not that davis is one of them but there is a lot to like and he's young enough. with philly's rotation the kid doesn't have all the milage on him and wouldn't be a rookie but have some NFL seasoning. i sure hope the steelers are looking towards some of these philly players that they deem expendable.

The Steelers offer to Fields should be O.
All he is , is a name.
He is not an NFL starting QB. Never was or will be.
