Funny, Steelers told to kick rocks when asking the Jags about a trade for Trevor Lawrence.

Don't assume that we are bringing back Wilson, or Fields, if Khan and company are calling other teams about trading for a QB.

Well, that settles it. If Strackbein's reporting it in a header, it never happened.

I said I was in the minority on this, but if want to try to win in 2025, Rodgers is probably the best solution. I don't want Wilson, Fields is likely to get a good offer elsewhere and i don't want to overpay for an RB that occasionally throws a good pass (as our starting QB).

Now, if they manage to trade for a still promising or potentially promising QB, cool. Avoid Wilson, Cousins. I like Rodgers very short term upside more than other vet retreads. He actually had pretty good stats for a team about as dysfunctional as the Steelers. Not saying Rodgers will throw 35 Tds or anything, but he has as good a chance as anyone at exceeding 30 TDs, while not requiring a 3+ year contract.

Im not opposed to it as long as the price is right. The Qb position is up in the air for 25, were probably not going Qb early in the draft. We gambled last year, might as well gamble again for 25. In 26 we should go Qb in the draft. But this really seems like Tomlin trying to make a playoff run in his final contract, this coach does not seem to want to rebuild with a young Qb.

If Rodgers was still good and not just putting up stats in garbage time, the Jets should want him back then.

That isn't entirely true. There is just so much baggage that comes with Rodgers. One rumor is that the Jets wanted him to stop appearing on the Pat McAfee show and he refused.

If MT is pushing for us to sign a 41 year old QB with baggage then he deserves to be shown the door before OTA

If we are looking at a stop gap QB, bring in someone like Brissett or Carr if he’s cut. Relatively cheap and drama free. We are not a QB away from the ring. We may be a QB away from a playoff win, but is that the goal now? Start the rebuilding process.

I think its the whole situation. There is weird, then there is Aaron, it not just off season, just a continuing thing that seems to lead to distraction. If you are trying to build a new culture, then you have to clean house, you miht not get your QB this year, but you can start the core build and with that get a decent locker room presence.

I was on NewsBreak yesterday and there are at least 20 clickbait articles on who the Steelers are going to sign or trade for

If we did all of them there would be an entire new roster and the salary cap would triple

Please let us go with Josh Dobbs. That would guarantee a no better than 3-14 record and a good chance of taking Arch Manning with the number 1 pick in 2026.

I don't click on that non-sense, but I love the subtitles where they post 'odds'. Is there someone actually putting bets on this crap? I mean true betting lines are at times very ridicules, like how many times Taylor gets a camera shot before halftime, if you are placing money on that or where Rodgers signs you have a real issue, Gamblers Anon has an 800 number.

Let's make it obvious, just bring on some UDA from a school that went 1-10, preferably division 2, trade anyone and everyone you can, get picks for this year and next and rebuild. Not going to happen, but if you are going to tank do it right.

You can call it tanking, but I see it as a necessary evil. Watch the Niners go on a run because they’re going draft some stud at 11. Maybe the Dolphins or Cowboys who stunk up the joint this year. In hindsight, the Minka trade wasn’t a good trade. We could’ve “tank” that year and end up with a Herbert, Lamb, Jefferson. Anyone of those would’ve been a cornerstone for many years.
