Let's please not turn into the Yankees post 90's dynasty and start signing washed up guys.

Honestly, I'm not 100% opposed to it.

I would trust Rodgers more than Russ. There is no sence in drafting a rookie QB as long as Tomlin is coach, because I have no faith in this regime to be able to develop him.

It would come down to who the Steelers feel more comfortable with, Fields or Rodgers. You could make a case for both.

Either way, welcome to the post Ben era, which will be filled with washed up bums and early round busts.

I don’t know… does A Rod have enough left in the tank to deliver us another 10-7 season with a first round blowout loss in the wildcard round?

    On the real?!

Might as well make this as a fanbase joke should it happen.

"10-7 gets you smacked and shredded!"

See?! Quite catchy if you ask me. :drinks:

It could quite possibly be the most fitting match of coach and QB ever.

Don't forget that little on field Love fest between the 2 .. Maybe we line up Fields and AR together with RB right behind them.. A true 2 QB system ..I never really seen it before but why not ?

Every available or soon to be available player is tied to the Steelers.

And if you looked up other QB needy teams there are probably stories of Rodgers tied to them as well.

How do you figure? Rodgers put up far better numbers.

Rodgers put up a lot of garbage numbers because his team sucked, and he has less mobility than Wilson has.

What are our options for a vet if they don't sign Fields?

They're not signing Darnold. Russ? Rodgers? Trade for Stafford if they make him available? Cousins or Carr if they're cut? Winston? Not to mention another handful of ham & egger's.(C. Rush, Mullet Gardener, Rudolph)

Reclimation projects like M. Jones, T. Lance? Trade for Joe Milton?

Draft a QB on day 2 and roll with them?

If they're actually going to make a show of trying to win it all this year, which is a joke, theses really are the options:
    Darnold - not gonna happen
Russ - I've seen that show before
Rodgers - If D. Adams comes with, and we hit on some draft picks, they may be able to reach their ultimate goal of a wildcard game win.
Stafford - He has two years left on his deal, they can handle his money for two years. Probably your best chance to actually win something.
    Cousins = TOAST
Carr - I think with a good team around him they could possibly win one playoff game. He can still spin it pretty good, and has decent mobility.
    Winston - GMAFB
    Jones = sux
    Lance - DOA
Milton - If you're looking to start over and think he's at least as good as these day 2 or 3 guys that you might take, why not offer a 4th? He actually did look pretty efficient in his one start.

This. It doesn't matter who the QB is... if we have GP and nobody, then our QB has no shot.

We HAVE to get a real #2 WR. We HAVE to get an explosive back to complement Warren. We HAVE to find a solid slot WR (maybe Roman Wilson can be this, but not counting on it). I know the Eagles defense dominated the SB but they scored 145 points in 4 games in the post season too (36 a game).... If we can't get some weapons, we're just going to lose to good teams that can score.

    Russ is not mobile.

If Russell and Fields both sign with other teams then Rodgers just might be option #3. The Steelers aren't going to go with Skylar Thompson so they have to sign someone. Unless the plan is to play Thompson all year and go 0-17 and then draft Arch Manning with the the #1 pick in 2026. That draft will be here in Pittsburgh so that might be the plan.

I agree WR in round 1 no matter who is QB IMO...A faster RB in round # 2 and would probably move back into round # 2 and get a pass catching TE as well in this draft....

fields is at least good for one to two fumbled snaps a game. oh wait, it's the centers fault.

fields holds the ball and can't read a defense past the snap. oh wait it's the WR's fault. no, it's the o-lines fault.

fields throws the ball everywhere but to the receiver, high, low, behind, too far in front. oh wait that has to be the OC's fault.

fields was 4-2. he was better than in chicago. that was chicago's fault.

i'm just getting ready for the season. :smiley1::smiley1::cool:

    Not really

Accounting for 17 games a little better in yards and TDs worse in Int and lower rating
