No. I hated it the last time we went RB in the 1st. Get your QB, OL, or defense in the first 2 rounds.

What they do in free agency will have a big bearing on the draft, more so than most years as they actually have money to spend. It would be good if they can come away from free agency with a solid CB2 and WR2 (assuming GP stays)

That would give them much more freedom in the draft. I like the idea of double dipping at DT in a strong class

The pick of the litter at CB was there last draft and we selected Troy Fantau. Cooper DeJean is the real deal.

Riddle me this; how is that the Saquon Barkley had a season of the decade after languishing in NY? The trenches make the difference. Good WRs and backs come out every year. Top OL and DL much harder to come by.

That's what we need on the DL.

I wouldn't mind them signing a DL in free agency, and then double dipping at DL in the draft.

Never. It would be my set-in-stone rule if I were a GM.

I was so pissed when the Eagles got DeJean. I had hoped against hope that we could get him somehow, and I despise the Eagles almost as much as the Ravens. I have to live amongst their a-hole fans. I'm not turning on the local news for 2 weeks.

I'm sure the Philly restaurants are thrilled that they picked Valentine's Day for the parade. If I had a reservation it would be cancelled immediately. Nothing says romance like a bunch of screaming drunks setting fires and peeing on the sidewalk.

Don't forget Hurts ..The running QB takes away 1 sometimes 2 defenders ,,Plus he can throw and has an elite option at WR this takes away guys from the box as well ..All these things make the job of the OL much easier ..

So if the Steelers wish to copy they need to use the running QB and they need a RB with top end speed who can break it at anytime not a power RB...

First things first... games are won up front on both sides... 2nd..... there is no world that exists where Jeanty falls to 21... the 20 gm's before us would all have to be drunk and on an acid trip for that to happen..... 3rd... if it came down to Jeanty and Grant (who also probably won't make it to 21), my pick is definitely Grant.....
That said, while philly's defense was totally dominant in the super bowl, it was Saquon's dominance during the season and playoffs that got them there...
Philly had 2 different 1,000 yd rushers the 2 seasons prior, but it took a truly special rb to elevate that offense to the next level and Jeanty appears to be that type of guy

If early mocks are an indicator it's hard to imagine a world with Jeanty sliding past the Cowboys with the 12th pick, but if he did it would be tempting. But it also underscores the mistake that was taking Harris in 2021. I don't have a hard and fast rule against taking a RB in the first, but the timing has to be right. Four years later and not only are they still trying to develop the o-line, but the d-line needs some youth as well.

If he was there at 21 and it were me I'd get on the horn with the Vikings, maybe even the Ravens, and see if I could pick up a third or fourth for trading back. Dobbins showed some flashes for the Chargers, but is still an injury concern, so Jeanty likely wouldn't make it past them at pick 22. The Steelers just aren't in the right position to go RB in the first.

we need to pressure without blitzing and cover everyone--- soooooooooo .DL and CB are needed-- and change of scheme. It was ridiculous watching Chiefs get destroyed. it was awesome. I want that for the Steelers.

Whichever option the team goes with, I am game personally. Just triple dip lol. The team did it last season. Time to do it again.

It's not just the line... Its the QB, other weapons, etc. Jalen Hurts' running ability, having to worry about AJ Brown and Devonta Smith, Dallas Goedert being a threat all make a difference. The last two sentences are just false though. OL and DL aren't any harder to find than WR or RB. The percentage of All-Pros by first rounders (past 15 years) are as follows: C - 25%, G - 22%, T - 19%, DL - 16.5%, RB - 15.6%, WR - 15.2%. So, it actually says the opposite of what you're implying. If you use Pro Bowl as the benchmark it changes things a bit. RB has the same percentage as IOL at 42%, OT is 37%, DL is 31% and WR is 30%. So essentially a "good" back is as common as a "good" interior OL, and a "good" tackle and DL is easier to find than a "good" WR. Just some food for thought since the stats don't exactly line up with your assumptions regarding OL/DL vs RB/WR. Info was taken from a Bleacher Report article.

Saquon was a great player in NY when healthy, he just played on a garbage team. Having other threats to worry about than Saquon helps just as much as the improved OL in my opinion. I'd prefer we fix both :)

You're starting to sound like S.T.D except for DL's instead of CB's :lolol:

Yes, his name is Henderson! He blocks, can run with power and speed, and can catch out of the backfield. Heis a ligit 3 down back.

Because they have quite a bit of dead weight on the DL that they need to get rid of:
    Lowry
    Larry O
    Loudermilk
    Adams
    Leal

    NO!

They are not going to draft a running back in the 1st round.

A DT or Receiver. 2nd round which ever they didn't take in the 1st.. Then I can see a Corner in the 3rd. Then QB in the 4th. Then a running back in the 5th. Then 3 7rounders?

IMO the only team that should draft a RB in the 1st round is a team that’s a RB away from being a championship contender.

Neither Grant nor Jeanty will be there. Purely hypothetical.

Grant would be worth trading up for IMO.
