i expect he's aware of it. i don't think they will just expect fields to be that franchise guy and the process should start to some extent in this draft. probably day 2 or 3. i expect it will come down to what fields is expecting and what the steelers are expecting to dish out. there are rumors of fields going to the jets. i'm not sure it's a give in he will just accept something here. they did him a little dirty.

Fans will complain when the team goes for it on 4th down or when they punt on some 4th downs, I agree the better short yardage package would be Fields and Harris. For some reason with the offense struggling against the Bengals they didn't play Fields at all .

They may go with him but they will have to adjust the team to fit him. The Ravens went all in on Jackson and rebuilt there team over several years to accommodate his style of play. It has worked for Jackson allowing him to be more of a traditional QB, however, his regular season play does not seem to hold up beyond that.

I don't want either back and I do believe that Fields will sign with either NY teams and they will over pay. If Wilson comes back it should only be a 2 year deal with his under standing that a QB Will be drafted and it would have not be a major payday. He wants to come back so take less.

The miss on Pickett and the coddling of Ben set this team back.

Thus is my thoughts at this point. They need another WR and RB to replace Harris.

Why is Kyle Allen off the table? I would keep him and Fields and draft McCord in 4th.

I'm not against that idea. McCord can be the long-term solution at backup for whoever is drafted in 2026.

Or the next Purdy. Low key excited about McCord. He could end up surprising people.

I'm not sold on McCord he doesn't have much mobility.

That's a fair take. He's the type of guy that if this was 25 years ago, he's a top 15 pick. But as far as a backup in today's game, I think he'll be fine.

I think he led the college game in TDs thrown? Yes he is not that mobile
But was Tom Brady mobile? He also played on team with very few 4 and 5 star
    players. Were talking
    4th round here, developmental.

The one game I saw him play was against Pitt where he threw 3 pick sixes in the game. He played really well in other games but man he was horrid against Pitt.

Some report listed some 'agency' (or whatever) saying Fields value during this FA period is 7 million. I have no idea who or what this service is and how they get that value, but just sating that is correct, then it comes down to how long a contract, how much guaranteed, and where Fields feels he has the best opportunity to start and possibly succeed. He is still young and has an opportunity to possibly collect one semi big to big payday. I don't hold out for him to strike the big cash, but if he performs well enough a Geno Smith/Baker deal might be available in his future. He knows the system, is liked by his teammates, I think it comes down to opportunities as much as money (unless its an ungodly difference, which is hard to see)

Rodgers not going back to NYJ. If we don’t sign Fields I wonder if he would be a possibility.

Schefter is reporting a number of teams will be interested in Fields this offseason, so I fully expect Popcorn to go bargain hunting in the scrap heap with Wilson, Cousins, or Rodgers this offseason. Tomlin's mismanagement of the quarterback room will once again cost the team as we lose a young quarterback who showed marked improvement heading into his prime for a washed up vet whose expiration date has long since gone. He'll embrace this move though as his best chance to achieve mediocrity, which is the new standard.

Yeah, McCord was so great Ohio State ran him out of town . The new QB that replaced McCord was more mobile and Ohio State won the title .
