I'm not anti-Wilson or anti-Smith for 2025. Popcorn is the problem, not the QB or OC.

.... and overrated defense got gashed for 200+ yards.

Those QB rollouts were getting old as the season wore on. Teams were ready for them. You got to change it up and do something different.

I think it’s more that they played 6 games with Fields and thats what coordinators had to go on for what the Steelers were running and then Wilson comes in and they open things up.

Absolutely agree that coaching is stubborn and would have gladly welcomed a new HC but just having trouble wrapping my head around telling a vet that you brought in because of his experience that he’s not allowed to check into better plays especially when they had been scoring a lot of points.

As for going more conservative maybe that had to do with Wilson struggling with what he was seeing on the field. I went and found the Warner film breakdown.

What games were you watching because Wilson wasn't good down the stretch even if Smith didn't let him change the plays?

Are the leaks coming from Wilson's camp?

Well, to me, the big problem is Smith. His play calling and design is just awful

Steelers will never win another playoff game with Tomlin.
    Rinse, Repeat
Tomlin hires morons and the morons run off good players.

I watched Steelers games in the month of December where the OL sucked and WRs couldn't catch a cold.

I could see that influencing the first couple of games, but after he went 36 of 57 for 542 yards, 3 PassTD, 1 RushTD collectively in those two games, I'd think teams would've thought that opening things up through the air was the reason they made the switch.

As for Dulac's report, i'm taking that with a grain of salt. It's speculation to me until a more reliable source comes forward. I have no problem believing they may have tightened the reins when Wilson started struggling (especially with Pickens out), but thought it strange to stay committed to it with his return on top of facing the Bengals D again.

What QB? There is zero on the roster.

i guess, as long as he's turning a profit he’s ok. Not necessarily good for the fans though. And that kind of profit only approach will catch up with any owner.

Last time I checked, Russell Wilson, Justin Fields and Kyle Allen were QBs on the 2024 roster.

This seems much more plausible. Wilson finished the season on a horrible note, there does’t appear to be any market for him so his camp puts out the OC accusation.

Reality is likely somewhere in between the two camps’ messaging.

It’s a good rule of thumb, truth usually lies somewhere in the middle.

Yep. Trying to keep his market value from plummeting like his game.

You also watched Wilson blow their chance in beating the Ravens in the regular season with his two bad turnovers, Pickens also missed three games.

If true, and we know how much misinformation is circulating in the USA.
We have a major communication problem and trust problem between QB and HC/OC.

It begins and ends with Empty (MT). End of story. No more to be said.

I'm not a fan of Kinkhabwala's due to some sketchy reporting in the past, but I'd say this contains at least some truth to it. Typically meets in the middle.

If he is I think my uncle may have helped bury him and didn’t know it

He ran the concrete pouring crew

I actually went there while it was being built

Like I said earlier this news is probably coming from Wilson's camp trying to find a new team in free agency.

Yeah, I had a bad opinion of her because of her accusing AB of sulking after a TD that the tape clearly showed to be wrong. And she really poured it on thick while accusing of him of that and later apologized not knowing how she could make that mistake. I’ll always be a little suspect of her reporting because of that but I’ve come to follow her more closely since then and she genuinely seems to be a pretty good person. She’s all about personal relationships, she likes the good guys.

As for her reporting on this, it’s more about passing the smell test than putting faith in her reporting. One version makes little sense and the other does. It could have been more along the lines of Smith telling Wilson he wants him to make more of an effort to establish the ground game and Wilson turned that into I wasn’t allowed to change plays.
