It would be nice to get him out of the division ;).

Nah, even the Browns aren't that dumb to trade him within the division.

Turning 30 with $60M-$70M still owed? 'How fast can this get traded'? That would be my response.

I think he would get ~$20m/year for the next 2 years from the new team.

Cleveland would eat the rest. They could spread the dead money across 2025 ($14.8 million) and 2026 ($21.5 million) post June 1, but then they cannot get a pick in this draft.

He’ll probably go to eagles as they get ready to repeat.

I remember talking about this event happening for over two years now and got rebuffed because of it. I personally am not surprised by any of these developments. Myles wants to win; simple as that.

The question now becomes which team is willing to trade for him?! Washington and Chicago both come to mind but as far as Super Bowl Caliber teams?! Only Detriot comes to mind but they need to resign a lot of people.

Not a lot of options for Myles to choose from; even worse for Andrew Berry.

Myles Garrett's cap hit for Cleveland this year is $19.7 million. Because of his original contract and restructures, however, if he is traded his pre-June 1 his cap hit becomes $36.2 million. His contract currently contains void years up to 2029.

Washington made the NFCCG with a pretty mediocre defense. They have a franchise QB at the beginning of his rookie contract. That could be a SB team soon. I don’t know their cap situation specifically, but it seems like a fit to me.

Bills were mentioned on the radio today, that makes some sense to me. They could sellout to try to get over the hump.

Commanders have the third most cap space available, almost $69 million after everything is taken into consideration

    They might have to.

At this point, Buffalo is outta options. That said, they will have to create a lot of room to do so. Mind you, not just this year but also in the years after.

So the Browns are faced with two choices- either they have to trade Garrett at well below market value in exchange for the other team taking on that God awful contract, or spend another couple of years in cap hell because of that God awful contract.

Does this mean he gets an additional $17M if the Browns trade him? I would ask for a trade too.

the cost to the Browns if traded was reported to be around 36 million, I think that would wipe out any savings they got by re=doing Watson's contract last year.
Reportedly Detroit tried during the season and were not successful. The discussion came up in a talk show yesterday and Detroit came up as the top potential landing spot for the thing you suggested. Losing both OC and DC plus more of their coaching staff, how may rookies are even going to make that team, NOW in that window that gats shortened every year. If ever there was a time for this type of trade it is now, besides the draft capitol they could get, the issue for the Browns is eating the 36 million cap hit. I cant read the ever changing calculations on the CAP, but the Browns rolled over 41 million from last year and still are trying to find ways to balance that out, getting rid of his salary hit would certainly help, but the hit alone would take almost all of the rollover. It's kind of damned if we do or don't.

I'm not sure it will be well below market value, unless they are thinking 5 to 6 picks, think they could get 2 firsts and possible a couple 'trade places' picks, their 3 for a higher 2, etc. Problem is what do the Browns do with those picks, lol. The one really good pick they fell into. now trade and grab more busts?

I was surprised to hear some Eagle fans talking that they better win it now because they fear Skins will be a new kid on the block. I might see that but it's far from proven.

LOL. No. It just affects how the money counts against their cap.

    O
Ok. The Browns need to wait until after June 1st then? Or trade him before June 1st?

This is from a few years ago, really does not explain how a trade affects past June 1st, except you can balance it out over 2 years. if you can work this out on paper with a new team IDK, seems problematic as you would want the picks for a draft this year to help find a possible replacement for the guy you just traded. A guy can retire on Feb, but you hold him on the roster until June 1st and designate any cap costs over 2 years, but cant see how you could trade a guy, get the picks, then make it official after june 1st.
