Derek likely was a hard worker a mediocre natural talent. Good character like his brothers just not as gifted in size and ability.

TJ and JJ both have ideal size and great motor, desire, character and athleticism. Coaching seems to have come after that since they’ve never been in great squads with known great coaching.

Do you have any evidence (articles or reports that you read) to support that Tomlin had anything to do with Boz’s comeback to reg round himself and shake it off? Or was it just solid work and practice to get the monkey off his back. Or anything else most fans don’t know about.

Harris is a decent player, hard worker, great locker room and character person with good but not great skills. Fantastic size and strength. Below par agility and speed. He was over drafted for sure.

He’s always run behind horrible O-lines and within deplorable offensive schemes.

He will likely go elsewhere and be just fine to very good depending on the line and scheme.

    just like James Connor.

Coaching is a lot like the quote about having money.... It just makes you more of what you already are.

Go check Watt's stats against Baltimore that's not mediocre competition.

Too much film out there showing him missing holes, running into the back of lineman, and even tripping over his own feet in open field.

Divisional teams are different. Especially in recent history as they are our biggest rival.

we are supposed to built to beat them first and foremost. So, his and our success against them is expected more than any other teams outside of our division.

He's still likely to get a good contract on the market. I agree, but teams are desperate and it isn't hard to convince yourself that a guy who has had 4 straight 1000 yard years is worth putting on your team... it would be a mistake. But, I think some team is going to make it.

I think some of those poor drafts can set a team back years and every year you miss the rest of the team is all a year older and maybe a bit slower.
There seams to be a point in time where you can sort of see more of Tomlin's influence in the drafts, way too many tweaners , guys that are corner safeties but very few can do both. Even some of the DL picks guys that are tall but not heavy enough for the 3 /4 scheme , sometimes I wonder if Tomlin understands the needs of the DL in a 3/4 defense.
Then there are the questionable picks of guys from Maryland WHY? .
Poor drafts thins out the depth and eventually you have to draft for a need and it removes the luxury of drafting best player available.
Look back at the roster under Cowher in most cases you can see the next man up. Nothing against Loudermilk but does anyone here see him replacing Cam, same as De LEAL
he might be a very good DE in a 4/3 somewhere else but just a little light for what we look for. Smith, Kiesel, Olhofen, Tuitt and Heyward are all 6'4" 300 lbs or bigger.

Didn't Pickett say he essentially got no coaching or guidance?
