On the subject of the Steelers FO isn't serious about replacing him, I don't think effort should be questioned here. Methodology, development and structure however?! That is where I wholeheartedly agree.

No one is saying nabbing a Franchise Signal Caller is easy. However, teams need to put in the effort to try much harder than the last time. Pittsburgh's FO has done nothing but place stop gap options and hoping for the best. What needs a major overhaul is the team's ability to scout these QBs, identify which QBs best fit the system that the Steelers are trying to run Offensively, have a plan of development in place when they identify said QB and ensure structure is there for when the QB does get drafted. The biggest takeaway though is to try as hard as one possibly can.

With Pickett they did but the plan to develop Pickett, along with the methodology of doing so, was comically fumbled from the beginning. Matt Canada had no business being an OC yet both Tomlin and AR II elected to keep him anyways; resulting in setting back the Franchise by possibly years and years. This isn't accounting for the headcase known as George Pickens and a player I did not like whatsoever in DeMarvin Leal; a player whom I have been correct about since he arrived minus the injury bug he has had.

Long story short?! Whatever level of desire the Steelers had when they sought to not only acquire Big Ben but develop him is what is severely missing within the FO. As far as I see it, both Omar and Andy get a pass from me for both inherited Pickett and the clown show of a mess soon thereafter. Now, Omar can be at fault for not nabbing a WR more aggressively as he should. That said, who here thought that a Third Round WR in Roman Wilson, one who had a relatively clean bill of health, would be knocked out for his Rookie Season?! Getting back to the point?!

LET OMAR AND ANDY COOK DAMMIT!!

I don't know, man. The effort seems lacking to me as well. How KP was ever graded as a 1st round QB is a total head scratcher. Same with Trubisky in Chi. We continue to try and pick up other teams trash. KP, Mitch, Mason, Dobbs, Oladakun, Landry Jones, Metzenberger, Paxton Lynch, Duck, Fields, Wilson. Those are just off the top of my head but hard for me to accept that they were trying real hard to replace Ben with any of these guys.

Pickett was a desperation play by Colbert wanting to set the Steelers up for success and cement his legacy on his way out the door and unfortunately had a **** QB class to pick from. Every QB needy team passing on Pickett should have been an easy tip off for the Steelers but they ignored all that.

No doubt. And even with hindsight being 20/20 and all that, most people knew KP was not the answer and there was a collective WTF when the steelers picked him in the first.
