Because Corey Matthaei and TJ Paganetti still have one more game to coach. Maybe?

Meyer is probably still under contract for 2025, everybody knows Art ll doesn't like to pay coaches just to sit at home.

If they don't move on from Meyer, it says a great deal about lack of organizational accountability.

I don’t know that I would want an OL in Round 1, but if the class is talented enough, I would be fine with Round 2 or 3.

The most successful teams are stout at the point of attack (either offensive or defensive lines).

Along with the fact that there are other Owners who are willing to move on despite making a mistake. For all of the comic relief they has been getting over the past couple of seasons, both George and Virginia McCaskey made the correct decision to fire Matt Eberflus this past season. The bigger mistake, a mistake that was avoided imo, was to trade for Mike Tomlin; something that would have caused irreparable damage to the development of Caleb Williams. Granted, time will tell with Ben Johnson but he has had success with the likes of Jared Goff along with being an understudy of Dan Campbell; one of Pro Footballs brightest Offensive Minds. Not only that, Ben Johnson has put together one hell of a Coaching Staff; Dennis Allen being among his biggest catches. While Allen wasn't a great Head Coach, people tend to forget how tremendous he was as a DC. From 2017-2023, New Orleans never had a Defense that ranked lower than 14th in scoring. In addition, those very same defenses were top 10 in yards allowed from 2019-2022.

Hell, Shad Khan, an Owner who is as patient, if not more than AR II himself, ended up canning Trent Baalke as he was the main factor in which why potential Head Coaching Candidates were not arriving in Duval. Much like Ben Johnson, Liam Coen is also going to need to be judged and gauged accordingly but he did turn around the career of Baker Mayfield. I suspect he will be able to do the same with a far superior talent in Trevor Lawrence. Now, there isn't much on the Duval front with Liam yet but Ian Cunningham from Chicago. Yes, his time in Chicago along with Ryan Poles left some to be desired; particularly in the past three seasons. However, people tend to forget that Ian started his roots as a scout for the Baltimore Ravens then worked his way up in the NFL; namely as the Philadelphia Eagles Director of College Scouting, Assistant Director of Player Personnel and finally, Director of Player Personnel. In 2022, he became the Assistant GM of the Bears. During the time he spent with the Ravens and Eagles, Ian captured two Lombardi Trophies. Dude knows how to build a roster and I suspect that, assuming he does become the GM of Jacksonville, will have Jacksonville back in the Playoffs a lot sooner than later.

Long story short?! AR II needs to embrace change. Either shake things up to do so or add more resources from the outside to do so. No ifs, ands or buts.

Hired in 2022, the belief is he's under contract through 2025. Typically, Pittsburgh hires positional coaches to two-year deals. Given that Meyer coached in 2024, he would've signed a two-year deal through 2023 initially followed by another two-year deal to run through 2025.
