Rings true. Above the mean is the standard. Get a game above .500 - throw the terrible towel in.

Does anyone go to Steelers.com for anything? For any reason?

    It’s a website

    It’s Steelers related

Some more reliable information other than clickbait insiders and pundits

    Roster once season starts

    Depth chart sometimes

    Printable schedule

    Season ticket account

I would have thought this was obvious but glad to be of help

Well, resigning Tomlin to an extension supports that theory.

Philly just scored 55 in playoff game. Whats the over/under on the next playoff game the Steelers manage 35+ points? Given Tomlin's age, I am going to say 2039, the year after Tomlin retires with the all-time record for most playoff losses in NFL history. It will be one of those records "That will never be broken".

I’ll paraphrase what I said in another thread. I believe that management has a glass-half-full view of the Tomlin era, and believes that by tweaking the status quo each offseason we’ll eventually have that breakthrough season. I don’t agree with that perspective, but I sure as hell don’t think they’re trying to be just “good enough” and dangle a carrot in front of fans to keep us interested. They’re trying, but they’re just taking a conservative approach that has failed over and over again and hoping for better results.

When you think about it, how does a team go about being 'just good enough'? I mean, it would be awfully hard not to win too many or lose too few games without some really deft drafting and coaching. The more likely answer is that they have been drafting and acquiring mediocre talent for so long that they have become an average team, with a slightly above average coach. The tough part about this is that it can be a Herculean task to break out of unless sea-changes are made in ownership and coaching. I see neither happening in the next five years.

Is it just me? it is 2 weeks ago since our Steelers were crushed by the Ravens
but I haven't heard of any accountability for our late season 5 loss swoon.
I know MT isn't going anywhere but don't you think the front office would come out and say
this OL coach/OC or this DC is not working out changes are going to be made. Sure would
inspire me more if I could see some sort of activity from Steelers. No, I guess they just think
    problems will go away.

The ads jammed up my computer, so I gave up trying to understand the point. Did see they picked the smuggest image they could find of Rooney. The headlines are suggesting Rooney is evil by trying to trick the fans. I suggest that site is evil for trying to trick fans into clicking a no substance article.

Rooney is a good man but sucks on Football. Agree that we will never win the big game again as long as Tomlin is here. We are over coached by good teams and too predicable on offense and defense. I bet on the over 47 points and both games they almost had it in the first half. We are playing like it's the 70's with 2 yard runs on1st and 2nd downs. Hardly ever blitzing when needed. We have a long way to go.

I've said before that it's about entertainment for me and the steelers are no longer entertaining. I find myself finding other things to do that provide me more entertainment value instead of investing my time, energy, and $$$ in this poorly run football team. That includes no longer making a trip to Pittsburgh for a steelers game every year. I can find more entertaining and fun things to do with my time and money.

Obviously I'm only one person and my money doesn't mean squat to the owners. But when a lifelong fan becomes ambivalent and no longer cares about the crappy product you're putting out, you should probably pay attention to that. I don't think I'm alone in this sentiment.

The Commanders give me hope for the Steelers. It had to be frustrating for Redskins/Commanders fans to endure the conference championship purgatory they had from 1992-2023. Steelers have better ownership and general management than Snyder provided for Washington duiring that stretch.... so eventually Popcorn will retire and Steelers will get a head coach that will adapt to modern NFL football in the 2020's, 30's and beyond. It's gonna take a few more mediocre down years for this to happen... and it sucks to not have any hope at present.

Agreed fully. They do want to win. They aren't interested in just being mediocre. Unlike Steel Elvis, I'll take it one step further and say the current ownership group are cowards. I have no respect for them. There's being conservative and playing it safe, and then there's being a coward, which is what Rooney is.

    Just my opinion.

Pretty much this. I took my son to his first Leafs game this year. He's ready to go to his first NFL game too, but I'm not willing to spend thousands of dollars taking him with my mindset the way it is right now. I used to get so mad and upset when this team lost. Now it's like I don't really care. I don't expect them to win anyway, at least not when it matters. I hope they do, but I assume they won't. I just expect them to lose and I expect them to be complacent in the off season and do nothing to try to change the narrative.

At times I still get emotional about it. Most of the time I don't care. If something happened and I couldn't watch the Steelers play next year, I'd be just fine. It wouldn't bother me at all. Once upon a time it would have crushed me. Life paused when the Steelers played. Now I don't really care if I miss it.

The Steelers ownership doesn't care enough to try to win so I don't care enough to try to watch the games when other things come up

So, they’re really sticking with the same coaching staff as last year? Where’s all this change Tomlin spoke of at his season ending presser?

More than likely the Steelers are awaiting the end of the season. I do agree that it is better to nab personnel now than wait but I suspect that is the route that FO has taken. What is more pressing however is AR II's EOY (End of Year) Press Conference not appearing anywhere within sight.

Steelers PR would have made an announcement by now. Odd.

Thanks! Another question: is there a way we can tell Rooney and Tomlin to F off and have them hear it?
