Dulac saying Fields will be QB in 2025

Well don’t fear if I know Tomlin Pittsburgh will have Rodgers and we will be doing the old retread qb again as he think he doesn’t have to coach with a veteran qb out there and that will get him an extension for another 10 years.

 

Trice as CB2, huh? Sounds bad.

 

What could go wrong with a running quarterback who can't pass accurately deep, read defenses well, has a mediocre O-line, and an offensive-challenged head coach?

I am sure they will bring in a washed veteran who won't make it four games due to injury.

We will continue to go through QBs like the Roman Empire went through Emperors after the death of Nero, the last of the Julio-Claudian dynasty.

Hopefully, they can finally do something about the O-Line so 2025 isn't the 'Year of Four Quarterbacks'.

The silver lining will be the 2026 draft position.

 

I don't see how they can count on Trice to be #2 CB with his injury history.

there are many good QB's in this draft. not great but good and solid. they need to get one of them and get it started. we have a young qb coach we hired last year. we have an older qb coach we retained last year. i'm willing to give arth another year with something to work with in a draft pick. give him something to mold that has something other than legs. i want a passer that can run not a runner that can pass. when we say pass not just a strong arm but the mentality to read the field. will howard looked pretty good if they can coach him out of some bad habits. there are some others though.

 

Need to draft man coverage capable CB and/or sign decent FA like Byron Murphy

 

Yes. I like Trice but he should be considered depth right now. Kid is always hurt and nothing special when he actually plays. He has great size but that isn't enough to hand him a starting job.

 

Russell Wilson is the better QB but Fields is less expensive and the team is going nowhere anyways in the stacked AFC.
Ho hum, might as well win 3 games next season and draft a new QB in 2026 when the draft is in Pittsburgh.

Don't even waste a pick on a QB in 2025.

 

That's just what I was thinking.

 

In the same day another such 'article' came through stating insiders said they would sign Fields. I honestly did not click on it, just enough headline to see what we already know, they create crap to get a paycheck.

 

Tomlin is signed on for 3 more years. The results will tell the story. 3 playoffs wins in the last 14 years. Most expensive defense and it resulted in nothing.

i agree. i still think they should bring kyle allen back. if fields goes down for any amount of time, i have some faith that allen could manage the team for a short stint. sure in the past he may not have been great but he has played in a few offenses and learned over the years. he doesn't look lost and wide eyed out there.

 

And what better options do they have at QB?

 

TJ and Cam must be thrilled. 7-10 here we come.
