We see what we see, hear what we hear. but how much is made up and blown out of proportion? None of us really know anything, except after the 3rd year is when negotiations usually start, we will see what happens. Trade, sign, prove it George. My personal feeling is a freak of talent and you would be crazy to potentially put that much cash out for what appears to be unstable. WTF do I know.

The OL is the issue I scratch my head at, how long guys? As bad as people feel Russ was, give him a line, well crafted running game, and George with a competent Nr 2 and even he could have won some of those games. Would I invest a forture to keep him around? No, but no one is going to find success with the line and weapons we have.

He is a good player. We should extend him. It comes down to money. Those things are done when the contract expires unless they can agree on terms before that.

We should be selling, we will find someone that can take him off
our hands. Let someone else babysit him.

I voted traded this season… but who will be dumb enough to take him and what will we get in return?
DBs already have him labeled. So easy to get in his head. Not reliable, once things start heading south… he quits.

I just read an article that said the choice could come down to extending Pickens at $25M/year or trading him for a 2nd round pick.

Of these are my choices, I'm probably more interested in the trade option. There is good WR talent in this draft. If we could get WR, DL, and CB in the first 2 rounds, I may not be so sad to see GP go.
    Just a thought.

I voted trade. I personally think that Pickens has enough talent that some team will be willing to part with a 2nd to get him. In the right environment, Pickens has a chance to be great. The Steelers are not that right environment.

I vote trade. Plenty of WRs coming out in the draft.

If we trade him, we have to get a pick/player or picks/players commensurate of his talent. Say what you want about this kid, but in the right system, he has generational talent. I dont throw that term around very loosely. I saw what I needed to see when he made that catch in the Cleveland game as a rookie. May have been one of the greatest catches in NFL history, and YES it was that good.

Lets say we trade him for a 2nd rd pick in the top 10 of that round, we will now have to pick 2 WR's in this draft, or acquire real talent in FA or else we are in the same boat as this year. I say dont trade him, ride out the contract, see if the light comes on, draft another talented WR and lets get this offense off the ground.

Then our luck he ends up on the Ravens or Bengals. I would trade him to the Raiders or Giants or better yet Steeler West Cardinals.

My bet is Pickens stays here for 2025.

I don't think Khan wants anything to do with another offseason of trying to chase down a #1 WR, or trying to trade for a #1 WR.

Even if he keeps Pickens he still has another offseason of trying to chase down a #1 WR, or trying to trade for a #1 WR.

GP was 56th in receptions and 32nd in yards and that is a #2

That's been one of our problems the last several years. We've been told some of these WR's are a #1 and they're not.

I know this is crazy, but there is the draft.

Roman Wilson fell in the draft because his history of injury problems. They need to draft a legitimate early round WR, not someone they are getting a good value on this year.

I voted for extension because that is what I want us to do. I have no idea what we will actually do.

Agree nowhere near AB talent who could go across the middle, YAC crazy, and a hard worker. problem is "new money" reared it's head as I expected the day they made that statement in primetime before that game. At least we got some great years out of him. Pickens is already a headcase and no matter how much talent its not worth the problems it causes by clearly showing other players you can act the fool with minimal consequences.

Doesn’t sound like George has any interest in being traded.

    Exactly

Just because he is the best on our team does not make him #1

This past season our #1 position had a for rent sign on it

Don't even think it;) Pickens on the Bengals or Ravens would just about guarantee 2 loses a year to them for awhile.

Is that how to interpret what he said? I can definitely see where he’s saying that the Steelers want to keep him, but that’s about all.

I could see it that way, too.

I think though that if he wanted out, he’d give the post a like or something to show he is unhappy and doesn’t want to be here.

Our biggest problem is WR and y'all want to get rid of Pickens? No way. I say sign DeVante Adams to help him mature AND draft Emeka Ebuka from Ohio St. Then find a passing game coordinator who wants to throw so much that Pickens is begging to sit out a few plays from shear exhaustion. The players that need to go are our RBs and OC. Not George. How many more wins did we get by getting rid of AB or DJ? It's time for a culture change on offense. Keep Pickens, add 2 more receivers and start beating teams by passing the ball.

So the next time he is supposed to run a route and occupy a safety he decides "nah, i'm not getting the rock so f it" and that safety breaks up a pass play or intercepts the ball. No way, talent surpasses character. If I can't trust you 100% of the time get rid of him. I hope he wins 5 rings but I don't a guy like that on my team. This isn't high school where some level of immaturity can be expected. He's a grown man in a professional league. Just like Shannon Sharpe says, he dogs his routes many times so the effort and team first attitude isn't there. Can't have that on my team. No different than Pickett quitting, get off my team no use for you.
