Had a pretty interesting interview in which he said although the organization is disappointed in the recent playoff results the Steelers are performing over the norm overall. Then went on to say no excuses but made a bunch of excuses saying we have to go through tough QBs in the AFC and the Ravens are also above the norm and in our division. This is the new Rooney mentality and why it’s the same ole same ole every season. Just be above the norm be 500 plus barely make the playoffs and get beat by 30.

I will give him the QB situation in AFC. It is tough when you are a team without a great one. Look at the NFC, 2 of the last 3 NFCCG's have had a rookie QB in it.

That's why I keep saying you have to win with offense...
    High Powered Offense...
and then we go out with those sad sack WRs last season.. wtf

At some point, the Steelers have to make the commitment to acquire their own 'Elite QB'
This does not look like the year for that.

More than 40% of teams make the playoffs, it’s not a big accomplishment

This is in line with a post I made where an "NFL Insider" claims "NFL insider says Art Rooney and Steelers do JUST enough to keep fans interested and make a profit".

No, but next year may be that year so they need to prepare now. I hope they are thinking about acquiring draft picks. Upgrade your coaching staff. Add to the FO. Do something. They just sit here and nothing happens. We haven't heard anything except excuses. Are they looking at OL coaches? Are they looking at DCs? Are they trying to add to the coaching staffs? Anything? All we heard is Omar was meeting the Coach Clown.

why does everyone keep saying to draft a franchise qb next year? who the heck is that? unless you move up to the #1 pick for manning, this years crop is probably better after manning. for Gods sake start now and figure it out. if nothing else we have a backup. i still think we should bring back kyle allen. why not? cheaper and probably get back the same return as fields or russell. go get howard or dart or mccord or daniels, or ewers or move up and get sanders, and see what we have.

I actually liked Kyle Allen in preseason accounting for who he was playing with and against

he doesn't play overwhelmed by the game when he has to come in. i think he'd be a solid #2 qb for this team. better than skyler thompson.

Kyle Allen started 16 games for a bad Panthers team a few years ago and went 7-9. Not too bad for what he had to work with.

Run it back, cover themselves in the security blanket. On no account change anything significant.

I mean, acquiring an "Elite NFL QB" is mostly pure luck.

He's a fine backup but he's about to be 29 and likes to throw interceptions.

Well yes that's true. I wasn't advocating for him to be the starter but he isn't a bad backup if forced into the lineup.

Actually his TD to INT ratio is better than Bradshaw

    He’s a fine backup

It is. But like the lottery, you can't win if you don't play.

If you have to play either Kyle Allen or Skylar Thompson then you're not winning with either one. They're career backups for a reason.

Sad WR'S the wrong types of TE'S and no big play RB'S... Now throw in a poor OL and we had no chance to win with Offense...
