The ceiling and the floor are pretty much the same. 9 win, just miss the playoffs on the final week floor.... 10 win, get blown out in the first round ceiling. Tomlin ball, baby.

I can't imagine a scenario where a serious GM and HC sign Wilson to a contract and guarantee him a starting job after his performance this past season. I'm fine with a contract, but if we don't bring in a competitor for the job then there is little hope for improvement on the season.

He wasn’t guaranteed a job last year what even makes you think he might be guaranteed this year

Why do you want Russ period so we can postpone it another year and finish with another non losing season for Tomlin and draft somewhere in the 20’s and have no shot at a good quarterback and no shot at a superbowl with Russ?

Give Wilson the vet min. and a case of Boost (his choice of flavor )every month and get what we can from him until the mess management and tomlin have put us in is fixed . May take a change of management and several new coaches .

"wasn't guaranteed".... Tomlin made it pretty clear that his preference was Wilson. Russ was even going to get the first shot over Pickett in the competition that never happened. Russ was getting the first team reps in preseason, and despite his injuries and poor preseason performance was handed the starting job the first second he was healthy (even though we were 4-2 and Fields was showing progression).

Russ was always the starter last season. He was as close to guaranteed as it gets. I would prefer we don't bring him back in any capacity, but if we do insist on bringing him back, he better not be in "pole position" for anything.

There are a number of options that are better than Wilson. Fields and Darnold are both superior options to Russ. Hell, I might even entertain Kirk Cousins on a similar deal to Russell's last year before I bring Russ back.

    Ok

Except for Fields he has had an opportunity and didn’t grab it well enough

Fields. Either he does well and we advance and know we have something or he flops and we get a high draft pick in 2026. Russ does what for us you aren’t going deep in the playoffs or a superbowl with him and the o line. So why be a 10 win team at most back into the wildcard and get blown out to draft in the 20’s with no shot at qb class of 2026 which is better than the 2025 class. Russ will cost more to give u the same as we got this year and again we are in the same boat at this time next year or we trade multiple round picks to move up the board to take a shot at a qb that’s never a sure bet anyway. Let the cheaper younger qb Fields either get it together or flop either way it’s a win win.

Yeah I like Russ but not at what he's going to want. His career has been based off using his legs and the deep ball. An apparent weakness is making him read a defense taking away the big play. That's not warranties big money imo.

I'd rather see Fields be given a shot with a reasonable 2 year deal. Put money into receivers, rb, and offensive line.

Just a measly 22-23 million a year. One year and its multigenerational wealth. Its just crazy how much these guys play and then you have dudes that quit on plays. With the average amount of actual playing time in a game being approximately 18 minutes its a travesty we have players that can't be bothered to put forth an effort for 18 minutes.

I'm actually marking the floor at 6 wins. I'll wait for the schedule, draft, fa, and trades to happen first, as things can do change with a fluid roster. But I get a sense that issues of the last 5 games will happen again next season, and perhaps be even worse.

I am not surprised that Russ wants to cook in the Burgh. I don"t blame him. I would love working at a job where you can steal a pay check every week no matter how you perform. Easy money.

Levis is terrible and he's not a starting caliber NFL QB.

Cousins has less mobility than Wilson and he led league in interceptions not interested at all.

I know Wilson wasn't good over the last five games, but Cousins?

    Wilson: 61% Comp, 171 Yd/Gm, 6 TD, 2 INT, 84.7 Rate, 15 Sacks, 128 RushYd, 1 TD, 3 Fum
    Cousins: 62% Comp, 236 Yd/Gm, 1 TD, 9 INT, 63.8 Rate, 11 Sacks, 3 RushYD, 0 TD, 5 Fum

yes they talked a little bit...in a meeting, that is generally what happens in a meeting. Talking a little bit. Clearly Saunders is driving traffic to his article, which I guess should be expected of media these days.

“Yes, we have started to talk a little bit, obviously, and we had our meetings and everything else and kind of just getting into it”

Smart to get a "reasonable" 3yr/$100m deal in place before he led us to the Lombardi

Really 4 years with the bears who had how many hog qbs? The bears who he had 4 different offensive coordinators in those 4 years. At least 3 head coaches. When the last time you tried to learn one nfl playbook and excel much less 4 in 4 years? Oh and by the way play on a **** team while doing it. But yea you have seen enough to know I am sure but you know what with Tomlin as the coach he will probably be better to move to another team anyway as when has he ever coached anyone and made them better so I don’t hold out much hope for any young qb who falls into his lap. Hence why he wants an old retread qb as his starter. How good did Williams look this year with the bears but watch next year with their new coach bet he is a hell of a lot better and so will Fields be with an actual coaching staff.
