It’s not retired. They have numbers that they just don’t issue.

He would be foolish not to

The Steelers may even encourage him to do so

Old guys stick to old habits

I have some friends that are still old school with a bag of weed and a pipe

It’s just not $20 an ounce mexican weed anymore and they have nicer pipes and little brass tube things that I don’t know the proper name for

That's one way to get a good draft pick the following. Who knows might get a new coach the following year. I like that plan.

Lets pretend its gap year, or decade. ;)

I think you see with the Conference Championship games, the importance of a QB who is mobile. The NFC is guaranteed to have a running QB be its representative in the Super Bowl, and the AFC sees the mobile Allen go against a more pocket passer in Mahomes.

Fields can be a Hurts type player for sure, and while he isn't on that level yet, I think seeing the offense tailored more around his skills (and hopefully the addition of a RB that can be a difference maker) should turn this offense into one that is more efficient and a threat to win games.

That's the bottom line, if someone drops in a place you feel comfortable, it's something you have to do and look at like any position. Someone mentioned in a post we need a Joe Burrow, well no sh!t! There are 5 to 7 QB's right now that are have possible HOF careers ahead and are true team leaders that can make a difference, another 6 or 7 that might be considered b to b plus, you are not going to find Joe Burrow drafting in the 20's, you are never going to have enough draft capitol to trade up, in a good draft of possible QB;s you may be able to move up, but this is not the year.
OMG the memories. I bought weed once, that name and price, lol. I bought half with a friend taking the other. I knew absolutely nothing about it, had a corn cob pipe I used when I was sneaking a puff at 14 and thought I was cool. A few days later some friends came by asked if I had any (news flies fast in a town of 1000, and I gave them the bag. Never bought any more, Im just to stupid about it, there might have been a few times I inhaled at parties, but never trafficked in it, lol.

I understand the superior cast, but he excelled at a lot of the same things at Kansas State that he has at Ohio State. I see the similarity to Hurts only in his ability to run with power. He is a far more developed passer than Hurts, and his intermediate and deep passing game is what is going to make or break his NFL career. He runs in a similar manner to Josh Allen, but it wont be what he is asked to do primarily. He will likely be a 6ish per game rusher more like Allen than a 10-11 rush per game guy like Hurts has been. I like his willingness to cut it loose when he feels like he has the matchups he wants (Jeremiah Smith vs anyone 1v1), and he has great swagger.

Is he a perfect prospect? No. But the QB position is a huge crap shoot. I am willing to take a shot on a guy that looks like he can get through progressions, has a good arm, a developed ability to take shots down field successfully, and has the ability to be an asset with his legs in short yardage and goal-to-go situations. I am more than comfortable spending a 2nd or 3rd round pick on something like that. Dart has a lot of the same abilities to Howard, but is a better runner. Howard has decent ability to escape and make plays on the run, while Dart takes those same opportunities and makes the defense pay with his legs. I view them as similarly ranked prospects in my mind, but I think Dart will be off the board first between the two.

I would tend to agree. I think Fields is a lottery ticket still in his own right. I would love to see an Ohio State draft (homer, I know...), as there are a lot of prospects that I would love to have on our roster.

    1. Emeka Egbuka - WR
    2. Treyveon Henderson - RB
    3. Will Howard - QB

Of course it does. If Tomlin only has 2 seasons left (assuming he is done by then, I know its a big assumption), then these guys will play the majority of their career without Tomlin. It still matters that we draft good players. It makes our transition (whenever that is) much smoother, and the team will have a higher chance at being more successful in the meantime.

I think I have come to realize we need a QB who is also a threat with his legs, but I still don't like the way Fields throws the ball.

He struggles to put it in tight windows, and he lacks any touch on the ball when he needs to put an arc on it.

I'd like to see them hire a good young QB coach to help him develop his throwing skills.

About 3 years ago while driving to a home game this song came on the radio

I started singing the words and my wife looked at me funny

She had actually never heard it

Having a qb who can run is awesome. Having a qb that can only run is a disaster.

Here is a link to what is clearly a clickbait article

First if you see the name Noah Strackbein just stop reading he has never had a thought of his own he just takes a random thought from someone else and posts a highly misleading headline

And even the person he is citing is just making up random bull****

Hurts has a dominant offensive line, a running back who could end up in the Hall of Fame, two stud wide receivers, and a quality tight end. The Steelers are nowhere near surrounding Fields with talent like that, and as you say, Fields simply isn't as good as Hurts.

This from the guy who told us there was only one quarterback the Steelers would take in the first round in 2022 and it was Malik Willis. Pardon me if I don't take Dulac seriously.
