Dan Quinn has taken Falcons to a Super Bowl and is taking Washington to NFC CHAMPIONSHIP Game. In this same time frame Steelers have not won a single playoff game.

    Yep. We know.

Remember that Super Bowl? If we had lost in such a manner it would be unforgettable and unforgivable. A permanent stain on the terrible towel. And that's not ketchup.

When Ramone Foster retired and DeCastro's list of injuries became too long, it was the end of our last real chance to compete. The rebuild is still underway. Remember the 80s?

I remember the 80s. I was playing with Tonka trucks and remote control cars and ate candy cigarettes. Was a fun time to be a kid.

I am not sure that we are rebuilding though. I have high hopes for Khan, but I really wonder sometimes if we are just ensuring that we don't have a losing season rather than trying to win #7.

I am getting real tired of Tomlin one liners about how it is his cross to bear, changes are coming, and all options are on the table. How many years will we hear variations on those statements before something really does change?

When Tomlin said he still feels capable of winning playoff games with this team I felt even he didn’t really believe that lol

Just got an image of an 80 year old man, on the living room floor, playing with Tonka trucks. Doing the beep beep noise while backing up. :roflmao:

Steelers won playoff games in the 1980's. 1984 and 1989. 2020's are far worse.

You've for gotten how bad the 80's were. We won only 2 playoff games in the 80's. We've won 3 in the last ten seasons. Call it a push.

Great for Dan, but Championships just aren't important to the Steelers now! Our Corporate Mission Statement has changed, I'm serious. Ever since the Emperor died, "Non-Losing" season Trophies mean just as much as Super Bowl Trophies around Pittsburgh! It's a movie made for Hollywood: Mike Dumblin started as a poor young kid in the projects of Hampton, Virginia, he worked 3 jobs, studied hard in school, got straight A's across the board, defied all odds, helped little old ladies across the street, got a lifetime gig coaching in the Steel City, and has now made everyone who cheers for the Black & Gold realize there is more to life than winning Super Bowls!!!

Besides, let's get real here...without Mike Dumblin's leadership and superior coaching intellect, the Steelers would only be getting 2-5 wins a year! We're lucky to have him, too, because the minute we fire him, 31 other NFL teams fire their coach and hire him! They have a name for the SB Trophy, so we need a new name for our "NON-LOSING" season Trophy we get every year...from now on, it's called the DUMBLIN TROPHY! :applaud:

No I haven't forgotten. Steelers beat the LA Raiders and Houston Oilers in the playoffs.

Just come to Portland, I'm sure you'd see 45 year old men high on meth doing such things

Portland didn’t do much for me but I loved the coast of Oregon

40 years ago I rented a little cottage right on Cannon Beach

Over various trips I pretty much drove the coast from Squamish BC to Cabo San Lucas

There were some really great and memorable players that came through in the 80s. We just couldn't put it together for any type of serious run. For those of us that can remember that decade, what we are going through now is not all that scary.
