STEELERS TRY FOR LIONS DC

Would love for the Steelers to get him. 30 different players on Lions defense this season due to injuries, yet they keep winning.

Still an amazing accomplishment considering all the injuries. We lose Watt, guaranteed loss. That’s just one player. 1-11 without Watt.
Yet, Lions lose many and still win. Just losing Hutchinson was big.

 

Agree we lose one guy Watt and usually curtains for us.

 

Are you sure about that? That Lions defense is getting worked by a rookie QB in the first half.

No. We let one of the top 2 DC's walk out the door in Flores. We could've canned Austin and had Brian Flores as DC and been in much better shape. Hell, he could've been promised the HC job after Tomlin's contract ran out...

In fairness, the Lions defense has like 1 or 2 starters that hasn't been injured for the season. As for Washington, the Lions just have a good offense. Ben Johnson is going to score points on a lot of defenses with that roster.

 

Exactly correct about the decimated Detroit defense. May not look good tonight, but the overall picture of the season is amazing

To put it in perspective, how many wins would the decimated defense had gotten with an average offense supporting them?

 

Once again, it was an amazing accomplishment. Steelers don’t have Watt playing we are 1-11, that’s just one player. Detroit has had 30 different players playing defense. Losing Hutchinson alone was significant

 

So I'm assuming that you are assuming that the Steelers would have fared better than 1-11 with Watt out and Glenn as coach? Admittedly he could only have fared worse at 0-12. I just think that the Lions offense dictated the record in this case.

This is after the game, so it is not about how the Lions played. Serious question though, what place in this organization were you thinking? MT is not going anywhere, so if you were thinking fantasy as new HC, ok, I guess. Other wise, why would someone leave their position as DC to crossover to the same position? Lions and his contract would not allow it anyway. The guy has been touted as a possible HC candidate, he may indeed have what it takes, but many coordinators are just that, good coordinators.

 

He will be in the Big Easy, trying to turn that franchise around.

 

No OFFENSE to their DC, I prefer to trade MT to the Bears in a salary dump and go after Lions OC.

 

I'm not mad at him.

 

Lions got whooped almost as bad as Steelers.

A salary dump? Why would that matter? It's not like MT's salary counts against the cap or that the Steelers don't spend money on players due to his salary.
