He got into it with Scribe and announced he was taking a break from the board.

I’d take him. Even at his age, big improvement in the WR room and who knows maybe he can have a positive affect on George.

    Adams, GP and Austin.

I won't be anywhere near as engaged in the off-season as I used to bw, the return of Tomlin has yet again has killed my enthusiasm.

Man I dream of getting my hands on Adams. I'm talking about Kay not Davante.

I now believe the idea that Tomlin is some kind of defensive guru is ridiculous. When he went to Tampa Bay that team was stacked all he had to do was stand back and look cool.
Then he went to the Vikings and they were good against the run but 29th against the pass a lot like the Steelers defense usually good against the run , but haven t been able to cover a TE in years .

The same old defensive scheme of soft coverage don t give up the big play and hope for a stop or a turnover it doesn't work anymore. Too many teams have learned to use the short passing game like its a running game . Crossing routes with a touch of a rub here or there is almost unstoppable with a QB that gets rid of the ball quickly and on time.
You really can t rely on the sack when the ball is out at 1.8 seconds.

I would like to see the defense get more aggressive in coverage and blitz packages.
We need help in WR and again use the middle of the field and be more aggressive. Any post game passing chart of the Steelers is like a giant U everything along the LOS or behind it and go routes down the sideline. It has barely improved from Matt Canada .

i agree in part but until WE get that QB that can get the ball out on time and quickly on crossers and down the middle and a line that can block better than ours can, it won't matter if we reincarnate jerry rice, john stallworth, or any other receiver to add to the team. what has this high priced defense gotten us? it's almost like our offense when we had AB at the top of his game, ben and the idiot RB we had. it got us nowhere. that's because the same guy is coaching them. it's not one problem the steelers have, it's many. until we have some leadership that can put it all together we will spin our wheels.

no MT isn't going anywhere and we will waste these high priced players. with all these high priced guys he still goes nowhere with them and the offense struggles. the defense struggles. there is one common denominator in it all.

Well said. Everything in this comment is spot on. I keep wondering what Mike Tomlin actually does well, other than to give quippy sound bytes to the national media.

This team's entire philosophy is run the ball (which they don't do well) and play that soft coverage defense hoping for turnovers. The defense has wracked up a ton of minutes on the field thanks to the garbage offense over the last several years.

We have never adequately replaced Big Snack either at the NT. The Steelers aren't strong enough in the trenches. That puts more on TJ and Highsmith, and wears them out faster. Look at the Eagles in contrast, they are like 8 deep on the defensive front. Their philosophy is to keep constant pressure the entire game. Our defensive pressure disappears at the worst time usually.

I know the last five games were against good teams, but the defensive performance is becoming a disturbing trend. They were done after the first quarter in the playoff game against the Ravens.

I don't see this offense improving next season, if the bottom falls out from under the defense finally, Mike Tomlin is going to get his first losing season.

    Dulac made a good point

Last year we at least had Pickett such as he was

TJ and Cam are a year older

    And a couple more etceteras

We are in worse shape than last year at this point in time

I disagree with Dulac they get back two rookies from this season in Fautanu and Roman, along with more free agents and another rookie class to improve the team.

Operative word is “at this point in time “

    Ok that is 5 words

Last year we would also have been waiting to get someone back and we would also have been looking forward to a draft and free agents

Seems like all of that is a wash

    But I like your optimism
