There seems to be too many red flags to give him a contract extension IMO.

I voted for trade. I’m not sure they will do it, but they should at least explore offers to see what value they could get.

At some point you have to draw a line in the sand. One of my favorite quotes is an organization’s culture is defined by the worst behavior they are willing to accept.

I voted that he’ll play out his rookie deal and leave, not because it’s what I think we should do, but because it’s what I think we will do. George is a key piece to the 9-8/10-7 early exit plan.

I think Pickens played his last down as a Steeler.

I could see picking up some WR's and regulating him to 3rd, but I don't think the Steelers see that.
He'll probably go the way of DJ.

I think we give him a new deal, the only reason I see him leaving is that he wants to leave.. ( and who can blame him he hasn't had a qb or a O corrridantor worth a **** since he has been here) I believe the media / fans Make out bigger problems than they are.... I could be wrong tho we will see

I have very little hope that Pickens will suddenly mature and finish out his career as a steeler. With that being said I doubt the Steelers can get much in return for him in a trade. At this point the league should know full well if the Steelers are trading a wr it’s because he causes more problems than he’s worth.

    Probably all true.
There's always some hope sees him and thinks "I can fix that."
For all the talent Pickens has (like DJ) it is a shame he does not have that drive.

My best guess is they will let him play out 2025 and then let him walk.

I think they will let him play out his contract in light of how barren the WR room is and hope that he can get it together but recent reports aren’t encouraging that will happen.

I can see the Jaguars or some bottom feeder team trading with us for Pickens. Lawrence is overrated, but he's just as good if not slightly better than Pickett/Fields/Wilson.

I hope Steelers can get at least a 2nd round pick for him. That would be nice.

He has ticked a lot of people off in the building.
It is hard to figure what they'll do. A guy like him is a cancer.
My only thought is that they need some draft picks. Maybe they get 1 for him.. every little bit helps.

As a GM or coach, they should know that locker room cancers are not good.

so the other clubs are going to know the Steelers had problems with him. They know the Steelers are going to want to move him. So in that scenario they will offer accordingly. It's not a sellers market

This is what my thoughts are. It would be a fire sale. some club might take a chance on him with a lower draft pick. But we're not getting a first or a second round or third round pick.

He's another cancer and needs to go. Yes, he's talented and, yes, the WR position is already thin, but you can't have guys like that on the team. He was clearly a headcase at Georgia. Draft a WR high and acquire someone like Adams. I do get that no one may want him, in which case you keep him for next season hoping for the best and cut bait as soon as he's causing problems. He sure AF doesn't get an extension.

So many think we have the upper hand and control his destiny with the team. There’s no way he wants to return to a team that’s in this state. Unless we somehow sign Allen, Mahomes or draft Arch Manning, why would he want to sign and have a C-grade QB toss him the ball?

I voted for plays out rookie contract, but if it was there I'd vote for who cares? Trade him for a 2nd round pick for all I care.

Trade him if you can get a 2nd rounder or above. Maybe even a 3rd rounder especially if the thought is they have no desire to sign him long term.

I think he is a great talent, but just not worth the headache.

Thats the biggest disappointment on both sides. On the Steelers side, they drafted an enormously talented WR. However they dont have the OC, the OL or the QB to take advantage of that talent. On Pickens side, yes his ego has corrupted his path into thinking he is the greatest since Jerry Rice, but on the flip side the outbursts probably stem from pure frustration. I dont blame him in that regard, he wants the ball as all WR's do and yes they are always open in their eyes.

If I were the Steelers QB, I can guarantee that I am targeting Pickens 10-15 times a game and I wouldnt have to be that accurate for me to be successful. As I said, we lack OC, OL, QB. These are bad combinations for a talent like his.

For all his faults I did applaud when he was asked whether there was reason for optimism with offense going forward (I'm paraphrasing). And he simply replied:

    "No".
