How about we wait and see how Arch does as the starter for a whole season in the SEC first.

Probably due to Ewers being a more experienced upperclassmen.

What about Carr? His numbers have been decent the last few years on a crap team. He's 33, not ancient. He still has good mobility. Unfortunately he broke his hand this year and he's going to be a salary cut. The Saints are in cap hell.

We're talking about finding somebody that can give you a chance for a couple years, while you continue to build the team.

Make a move in 2026 for your QB.

Carr is injury prone hard pass.

I still wouldn't sign him because he's not that good, they would be better off re-signing Fields. Carr told the Saints he's not taking a pay cut hard pass.

Steelers extended Big Ben when they should have parted ways after he failed when signed to previous contract. Then they drafted Mason and failed to give him his window. Then they drafted Pickett to give him his 4 year rookie window, but it was not a good QB class and the leash was short on that class, on all QBs, Pickett, Ridder, Willis, Corral, Zappe, Howell. Rightfully so.

The Steeler will have to draft a starting QB and give him his window. They will have to do it like all teams do it. There are no short cuts. That's number one.

Number two. The infatuation will running quarterbacks has to stop. Mike Tomlin is obsessed with getting Lamar Jackson 2.0 that he will get any sht quarterback who can run. That's how they got into Pickett and Fields and Wilson.
Running quarterbacks do not take you to superbowls but "good" quarterbacks take you to superbowl on first contract. Like Burrow, and Goff, and Mahomes, not Lamar and Richardson. The biggest failure of this team was refusing to give Mason Rudolph his window.
Now, they will have to find a "good" quaterback in the draft, which they are unwilling to do because they are looking for physiucal tools quarterback, and give him the 4 year contract.

I fully expect them to trade a farm to move up and draft Milroe, put the team and the fanbase through some years of sht again, fail, and be right back here where we are now in four years talking about what we should do.

Sylar Thompson almost beat Josh Allen and the Bills in a playoff game a couple of years ago. The Bills hung on and won 33-30.

You don't want the guy, I get it. But, why would use the fact that the Saints can't pay him what they signed him for, because they horribly mismanaged their cap, as an argument against signing him?

Is he an ass**** because he didn't want a pay cut? He has no honor, and you'd be offended if they signed him? Like Vick?

And speaking of him not being that good, he's a way better passer than Fields. He makes the occasional bone headed throw, which keeps him from being an elite QB. But, he's thrown for damn near, or over 4000 yards, seven times. I can't imagine Fields ever hitting 3000, because he's just not that good. And this whole idea that Fields is suddenly going to become this prolific passer is ridiculous. I think, after almost 50 starts, we know pretty much what we're getting.

I want them to bring back Wilson out of spite. I can't wait to see them booed out of the stadium by week 4.

id go with Wilson in 25. Give him more protection, a viable no 2 and let him go all out. Allen can back him up. Let field get the chance at a starting gig somewhere else. This could be a setup to get a Qb in 26 and Wilson can hang around for an additional year or two as a mentor.

and We desperately need a good young DC to straighten out the D and help old man wilson and the incoming Qb get the ball back.

Carr has proved time and time again he 'aint it. He's another Kirk Cousins, he's just good enough to fool ya enough. We have tried the half assery with older bridge guys and it has not worked, go with Fields see what he is, if it's bad and we suck we;ve then got to go and get a aguy in the '26 draft.

Carr won't give us a chance, Trubisky didn't give us a chance, Wilson didn't give us a chance...

Wilson is cooked. He's got one ball and that's it. We just wasted a season him, i'm not wasting another on a guy who doesnt have it any more.

I know this is crazy, but shouldn't your headline be that the Steelers do not have any QBs on their current 2025 roster?

Mason had a nice since of humor, and I loved his comment a few years ago about how he was currently the Steelers starting QB, because he was the only QB on the roster.

Because Carr is still under contract with the Saints I assume, why would the Steelers be interested in him with his current contract?

In that game he went 18-45 for 220 yards, 1 TD and 2 Int, and ran twice for 3 yards.

The Press has been gone since 1992. It had been the bigger local paper in terms of circulation, but a long strike led to it closing.

I think Folks should get used to Fields being fully given the reigns next year without another potential starter waiting in the wings during the 2025 season. I feel pretty sure that’s where we’re headed.

The horrendous finish was about a lot more than Wilson. The defense fell apart. So did the offensive line. The problems at the receiver position persisted. The competition was much better than what Fields faced when he was starting. You keep ignoring that context because it doesn't serve the story you want to tell.

The team won 10 games, something that I don't believe would have happened if they stuck with Fields. The offense simply wasn't good enough. At the very least, they lose that first game against the Bengals with Fields. I've made this argument often enough, so I don't understand why you wrote that I said Wilson won 10.

Denver had to pay him either way, and a big part of that was the coach not getting along with Wilson.

LMAO yeah Denver had to pay him either way but he was so bad they chose to pay him to play for another team rather than try and win with him :lolol:

Whatever man. He went 6-6 and displayed all the reasons you feel Fields isn’t any good but keep defending him :thumbs up:

I think you are right. I'm just pushing back against the ridiculous idea that they will do it because they need another look at him to figure out if he is the future. He's not. He's a bridge guy that they might settle for because they don't have anything better available to them. Get ready for many more games with less than 20 points of offense.
