I was initially sort of lukewarm on Bradshaw, but I didn't realize he's still only 27 years old (and just turned 27). He's also averaged 4.6 YPC for his career. I still see how much he wants, but unlike Beanie Wells I think Bradshaw is a good compliment to Dwyer.

I like Bradshaw. He's a tough runner with good vision and lateral quickness. I think he may be in a situation where he needs to take a 1 year "prove it" deal, and then hit the market again next year. I wouldn't mind the Steelers being the team that he plays on with that kind of chip on his shoulder. The only red flag with him is that he had a big fumbling problem in 2010. He did get better in that regard in 2011 and 2012, so hopefully it's no longer an issue.

My concern is his foot issue. I heard that it is an injury that will not improve much if any and he will just have to play through it.

I'm in a "Dynasty" fantasy football league (meaning you keep your team from season to season), and have had Bradshaw on my team for a few years so I've followed his injury history pretty extensively.

For the most part he'd be on the injury report every week, and would sit out practices several days in a row every week and then he'd suit up on Sundays. It sounds like it's probably something that's painful, but he can play through it.

Obviously it will probably only get worse. It's a risk for sure but I would say thus far he typically toughs it out.

Would love to bring him on board. He's consistent. As long as he can tough it out through the pain and not be a distraction, I like him.

Having had Bradshaw on my fantasy team, I'd be pretty worried about his injury history.

Well, the last Bradshaw we had worked out pretty well so let's take a shot.

Seriously, Bradshaw played high school football in the county I live in so I've followed his career for quite some time. He's got a few personal skeletons in his closet but I can't say anything about his ability as a football player and his value as a teammate. He runs hard and he plays hard. He's a 100% effort guy in the same mold as Hines Ward. I'm warming up to the idea of bringing him in.

i'm real mixed about this. i like bradshaw and always did, but i don't think he's the same bradshaw that he used to be. he's been used alot the last few years and not nearly as good when hurt. they had to use him more when jacobs was hurt, and that was often. i just don't know. use the money elsewhere or take a huge chance. all we have behind him is the same average guys that colbert talked about being only that good. that's a bad injury for a RB. teams would have grabbed bradshaw if he was fully healthy. not barely healthy and on the cheap. i'm having flashbacks to staley and they are not good ones.

Maybe we sign him to a 1 year 'prove it' type of contract? Certainly less risk involved. Maybe he stays, maybe he leaves after 1 year, but we'll likely have a draft pick or two to fill the potential void.

Dwyer is the only RB I care about on the roster at this point. Redman can go, he doesn't bring anything that Dwyer can't, and Baron Batch is good for... what? The only thing I remember him doing is running into the LOS and falling down, and dropping a sure TD in Cincinnati.

The 4th RB you're mentioning must not be very good because I don't even know who you're referring to.

I agree, no running back currently on the roster or tendered is irreplaceable... Far from it.

Maybe the 4th is Will Johnson??

Ah ok, I consider Johnson a FB, not a RB...

@darcrav... I haven't heard anything about them being interested in Geo B yet... but I tend to ignore M.Lewis. He's a complete dick to all the local media.

he is and he's also only signed for one more year. redman has been far more productive then dwyer to this point. we have a new line in front of these guys, they may look alot different.

Far more productive? Their numbers are basically the same, with Redman playing in twice as many games (46 to JD's 21).
    Redman: 272 carries, 1,1136 yards, 4.2 YPC, 5 TDs
    Dwyer: 181 carries, 774 yards, 4.3 YPC, 2 TDs

I think Dwyer showed this year he has a lot more burst than Redman... And while Redman may be slightly better on the goal line it's not worth a roster spot if you ask me.

And yes, we have a whole new line, that's a whole new scheme that neither guy really fits into.

redman has 2 receiving TD's also. that's 7-2. scores win games. 76 of dwyers came on one run a few years back. he's really closer to 3.7 on average. still not bad. batch may be a better fit behind the new scheme.

Wow... Ok. I can't believe you're really trying to argue that Redman is that much more productive than Dwyer. Ok, he has 5 more scores in 25 more games.

Running back's like Redman are a dime a dozen. I'm not REAL high on Dwyer either but I think he has a much higher ceiling, and I don't see the point of having both. Personally my hope is that Redman gets cut in camp and we go into the season with Dwyer, Rookie, and Batch.

I think the key for Dwyer is whether he comes into camp lighter and in better shape. The Dwyer that I saw at Georgia Tech had pretty decent physical ability for a zone scheme. He made quick, decisive cuts, and then quickly went north/south after his cuts. At 230 lbs, he is not a plodder. At 250-ish, he is.

The two before him weren't that great, though! Does this mean we're due another good one?

Bradshaw is 2 years younger than Duce was when we signed him.

NFL.com's Aditi Kinkhabwala reports the Steelers "would really like" to sign free agent Ahmad Bradshaw.
Bradshaw visited the Steelers on Wednesday, his first visit of free agency. He's recovering from foot surgery and by waiting to make visits until he shed his walking boot, Bradshaw likely missed the bigger running back money. The 27-year-old would be a fine fit in Pittsburgh, but he may have more visits lined up. Mar 28 - 1:07 PM

Not breaking news by any means but I figured I'd pass this along.
