At this point maybe Fields, Russell blew his chance to return as the starter.

That's probably the most realistic option.

Grabbing a 2nd tier QB in a horrible QB draft doesn't fill me with much confidence for next year.

I think you use Fields and continue to build the team until the opportunity to grab the guy comes, and maybe he can step into a decent situation .

That will come, this redo will take a couple years. He would be a first step.

I just read Vrabel walks into the Pats with $130m in cap space and seemingly they have their QB. Someone said before, its like we are just rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.

I yie yie yie, where to begin? I’m just a fan but I’m so irritated with basic mistakes from coaching n players rinse n repeat again and again. After watching that playoff rout, yet again, in my head I hear a Noll saying, “Simply put, many of you are not that good.”

I was listening to Steelers Depot and Alex (?) brought up a good point. He brought up culture. Are they getting Steelers or just players. I thought it was good food for thought. Does each one have that Steeler dawg in em?
Do it with each player. For example:

Elandon Roberts, yes dawg, a Steeler. Keep

Now if you do that with each player and you find yourself saying, nice guy but, or I like him but, that player prolly needs to go. In other words brutal honesty on the culture and demeanor of each individual and then address talent, ability, work ethic, and mechanics.

Anyway, thought it was an interesting point. In your head do that with each player, not their talent but culture. Are they a Steelers’ Noll keeper? The results may surprise you with brutal honesty.

Band-aids then to a 9-8/10-7 with the same issues never being resolved and Tomlin brought back for 2026.

    Yippee

we need players who can play in cold wet muddy weather and not cry about it.O---line help.QB who can throw fast.run fast....Defense that can cover not play 80 yards away from their guy ...we need strong big run stoppers. But we don't need a FG kicker yet ---we have a wizard- of BOZ

I think that the biggest thing they need to do in the off-season is to work on the coaching. Our coaching sucks. Other than special teams, there really isn't a success story on this team right now. There are individual players who have great success, but there's no section that has great success. They can't be a group of 11 individuals on the field. To have any sort of real success, they need to be a cohesive team of 11 players. Right now we do not have that in my opinion. That seems more like a coaching problem than a talent problem.

So for me, step one is to level up the coaching.
